I liked this book better than the previous book in the series. I felt it read more like a single book than a series of short stories even though the book is very much a series of different monster hunting stories tied together. It was much fun to read this one.I can just as well get the political in...

It was a long time since I read the Monster Hunter International series. I was therefore quite happy when I found something new had Larry Correia’s stamp on it and took place in the Monster Hunter International universe. This is a fun book to read but, sadly, I do not think it is as good as the orig...

Audiobook.Such a good book! A seemingly run-of-the-mill trip turns into something totally unexpected too where the survivors are left on a planet they know little about. This is about their "March Upcountry" to a space port in enemy hands. The prince, who at first I hated, I ended up liking a lot. H...

This book is set mostly in the early 2000s but it's a world that has found out that aliens exist and you better start fighting them. Battle after battle is detailed in the book. I wish I could have found out more about the soldiers at home. Very good book.

So the start of this book was a bit problematic, what with the 'split' officer being forced to give it up to her compartment mates. I must be naïve, it took me quite a while to figure out what the hell a 'split' even is. So points for educating me, I guess?Anyway the rest is pretty cool - blah blah ...

My relationship with this book (and the series it belongs to) is...shall we say, complicated? Complicated covers a multitude of sins.I tried to read this book, and gave up in disgust because, well, everyone was just too bloody badass! I'm serious here. Thirteen year olds with guns and...yeah.What I'...

I had trouble getting into this book, and even considered abandoning it early on because it wasn’t holding my interest. However, I did become more interested in it as things progressed. The story is that a group of space marines are escorting a prince to an event on another planet. The prince is th...

3 stars for the first 50%4 stars for the last 50%The pacing of the first half of the book just dragged, and I had to force myself to keep reading. Once the squadron finally headed off to battle the undead, though, I couldn't stop reading. The final action sequence in London was fantastic. I loved...

I have truly enjoyed both books in this series. The characters are delightful. What a great concept for a series. One thing, if you and Barbara are going somewhere, its best that you do the driving!
