What a gripping series this was/is for me. I love the premise, a young spoiled prince, stranded on a hostile planet with few resources, must make his way toward a hope of escape. While at the same time growing up and maturing, both as a man, and as a leader.

Reading the description this book looked interesting with elements I like in a sci-fi story, particularly how first contact will change human life. However I'd put off reading it as I'd heard that the author was very right wing and bashed you over the head with it in the book. Now that's an overstat...

Fun, fun read, with one major disappointment - those dreaded words on the last page that read "To Be Continued" - NOOOOOOOO!!

All things considered - and it definitely did have its flaws - Under a Graveyard Sky was probably one of the better apocalyptic tales I've read in a long time, and certainly one of the best zombie tales in recent memory. Rather weak and unbelievable in terms of characters, but very strong in terms o...

Unfortunately, I thought it was a trilogy right up until the book ended - so I was a bit disappointed that there is still another whole book to go.With what took place in th...

This is the latest book in John Ringo’s Legacy of The Aldenata series and it is also the first of the Hedren War sub-series within that overall series. When I read the first book in the Aldenata series I was not really very impressed. I really disliked the Darhel plotting and scheming in order to tr...

I've been on vacation all week, doing my best not to think about work. Since I knew we'd be spending a few days camping, I decided to push the review pile to the side and do a little pleasure reading. I didn't have any specific titles in mind, but I knew precisely what kind of books I wanted to enjo...
