Outstanding. This title is constantly surprising me. Considering that this was the last I picked up, and that my interest level hovered somewhere between five and zero, the fact that it's pulled out ahead as my favorite of the new Marvel SW titles is as shocking as it is pleasing! Presenting an Anak...
In this graphic novel we see Doctor Strange has fully accepted his role in the world of magic and still looking for ways to heal himself physically. He has become one of the world’s greatest magicians. He fights evil trying to take over the world while combating his own troubles. This is my firs...
The gods gather and some of them look for justice for the death of some of their number. More are killed and they continue to manipulate those around them, resulting in open aggression between various factions. Death, blood and guts ensue. They are an unsympathetic bunch, obsessed with themselves an...
The gods gather and some of them look for justice for the death of some of their number. More are killed and they continue to manipulate those around them. They are an unsympathetic bunch, obsessed with themselves and their rivalries. Still confusing and with too much writing to read, I'm not sure t...
I utterly failed to note on Volume 2, that I quite like the Young Avengers. No doubt it was good to start out with the parental conflict. I don't know how any of these characters got to this point, but I don't much care, either. It's a random group of superheroes/gods/mutants in their teens or twent...
Natasha brought home Young Avengers, I brought home Lumberjanes, and after we finished, we swapped. Sunday afternoons in fall the Spouse watches football. We went to the library and stopped for Slush Puppies at the Quickie Mart, because even though we're into September the actual temps are still in ...
I'm sorry. I think this is where we part ways. I thought the second volume was boring, but this one was horrible. Maybe I'm the problem, maybe I wasn't in the right mood or something, but I'm just no longer interested in reading this. Two stars.
Aaaaand, just as I was praising the excellent job Marvel was doing with these titles, comes the worst I've read so far. This volume is a bit of a cheat in the first place: it includes the first annual, which is understandably considering how it eventually plays into the main story but also kind of m...
If you'd told me that I'd be enjoying a comic about Darth Vader as much as I am even five years ago, I would have called you a liar. There's so much that could go wrong here, and elements to it that shouldn't work (Dr. Aphra) but shockingly do. I've lived through three phases of Star Wars comics: ...
The art was fantastic, but the story didn't advance at all and was incredibly boring. The ending was quite unexpected and I do want to know what's next, so I will continue reading it. Two stars from me.
