A riveting historical narrative of the heart-stopping events surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and the first work of history from mega-bestselling author Bill O'ReillyThe anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history—how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation, with the former Confederates allowed to reintegrate into American society. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices, perhaps reaching into the highest ranks of the U.S. government, are not appeased. In the midst of the patriotic celebrations in Washington D.C., John Wilkes Booth—charismatic ladies' man and impenitent racist—murders Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theatre. A furious manhunt ensues and Booth immediately becomes the country's most wanted fugitive. Lafayette C. Baker, a smart but shifty New York detective and former Union spy, unravels the string of clues leading to Booth, while federal forces track his accomplices. The thrilling chase ends in a fiery shootout and a series of court-ordered executions—including that of the first woman ever executed by the U.S. government, Mary Surratt. Featuring some of history's most remarkable figures, vivid detail, and page-turning action, Killing Lincoln is history that reads like a thriller.

0.5 Bill O’Reilly Blames Decline in Spirituality for the Deaths of WDBJ Journalists
What a horrible, lying, Christian jerk who happened to write a lot of crap books. I was thinking if you read his books, because you like this jerk, I'm quite certain that we could not be friends. If you read these books for research for how someone who is fucked in the head by Jesus think, then...

4.5 Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination that Changed America Forever - A great listen!
It has been awhile since I've really sat down and listened to an audiobook. I used to listen to them a great deal: when I was driving, working on projects, and even sometimes when I was reading! I learned to love them from my dad, who uses them when his eye strain is too bad but like me, he can't st...

3.0 Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination that Changed America Forever
An enjoyable, easy read. Seemed a bit embellished and read like fiction in places. Bill O'Reilly is an ass, but the book is ok. I'll give Killing Kennedy a read too.

PREFACEAs a person who is generally curious about historical events and the people involved in them, a book on Lincoln's assassination is something that piqued my interest. How did I discover this book amidst a sea of noise? Did its merits cause it to rise above the rest, standing head and shoulders...

So, this book was actually really good. A writer, Bill O'Reilly is not. A HUGE fanboy of history, he is. No matter how you feel about his politics, he totally shows his history nerd roots here. What I liked: I had no clue how huge a conspiracy this was. Like...huge. From what I can tell, He's mostly...
