This one really hits on all cylinders, I finished book one hungry for more. The mythology is tight, the relationships sweet, and though the villains are over the top, that just swept the playing field clean for Cady to start over in book two. Can't wait!

This was an interesting take on magic and demons. I liked the fact that there was a teenage boy in the story and he didn't get ignored. He had a nice role to go along with his demon father, Lon, and the heroine, Cady. There were plenty of "old folk" jokes that made me laugh since Lon is in his early...

At first, I don't want to "approach" this book because of the description of age gap AND the fact that Lon has moustache. I know, I know, such PETTY reasons. But I have never been a fan of May/December romance or men with moustache (yes, I don't think Tom Selleck is handsome, sue me). HOWEVER, all t...

This is really a 4 1/2 star book, but I'm trying to avoid grade inflation, so I did not round up. Our heroine, Arcadia Bell, is a magician who is in hiding because her parents (also magicians) are accused serial killers who are also in hiding. She bartends and is part-owner of a bar which is frequ...

This is a really strong beginning of the new series. Original setting, good, kind sense of humour, easy to love main characters. This book wasn't as explosive as I thought it would be, but it built up a solid base for the next installment. Arcadia Bell is a 25-years-old magician who was borne with s...

Arcadia Bell (Cady) is a woman in hiding. She has been on the run for 7 years because her parents were accused of murder. She has tried to carve out a normal life and hide in plain sight, she is half owner of a demon bar and she uses her magic only to keep the patrons (earthbound demons) in line. ...
