I really liked this one.Umm... (okay, speak like a grownup).... it was a well-constructed plot. The characters were likable, and it was super-cute. Definitely a treat for younger-grade-school-kids and anybody who likes that sort of stuff.
For fans of Lauren Child's "Charlie and Lola" series as well as Junie B Jones...This one combines a lot from the two-- a precocious 1st-or-2nd grader getting into hijinks. adorable (imagined) british accents. fun typography and pictures....however, it's not as heartwarming and imaginative as Charlie...
I really wish I could love Lauren Child more than I do. My daughter, on the other hand, absolutely loves her and actively seeks out her stuff at the library every time we go. In this case I have to defer to my daughter's tastes!
My niece said that this book is, "Kind of weird, but very creative! I really like it!" She was very caught up in the story, but she also commented during the story, "It's really neat all the little details that are in the pictures." A big hit, and a fun book to read out loud. Just doing the voic...
