Any volume that gives us more Natori is a volume I'm more likely to enjoy. :) And I did enjoy this volume. The hot springs issue was... unusual? For hot springs episodes, which I appreciate, the cherry blossom story was sweet, and I loved all three of the little extras after the main stories.
Another good volume, with some very cute stories in it. this one gives a nice cross section - we get a story about Natsume working with Natori, which is always an interesting dynamic, as well as one very big conflict and one very small but very adorable one. The art remained, however, my favorite pa...
I think this second volume is a little stronger than the first, but it carries on that atmosphere that makes me love this series. The story of a test of courage in an old school leads to questions of self-image and worth and friendship and kindness. A lovely volume. :)
I really wish I could put into words what it is about this series that makes me love it. If I look at it objectively, the writing is nothing special. You know what's going to happen, more or less. The character development is slow and sometimes clunky and doesn't always make sense. The art is beauti...

He isn't terribly surprised to discover that he's not the first person in his family to have this ability. His grandmother could do the same, and bullied the yokai around her by using her str...
The volume is dominated by the first long story, involving Mr. Natori, the creepy Matoba clan of exorcists, and other newly introduced characters in a complex ethical consideration of the interaction of humans and yokai. Natsume, as always, wants to protect everyone and hurt no one, but what if this...
One long and several short stories structured around the theme of loneliness. In the series' first three-episode arc, Natsume encounters his most powerful yokai yet. Appearing again are Taki, the girl who can't see yokai herself but knows about them, and Mr Natori the actor/exorcist. Two of the shor...
This series is consistently high in quality. Volume 5 continues to be primarily episodic. There are slight differences in structure this time: a larger multi-chapter story, and a half-length and action-free final story that ends rather anticlimactically. We also get a little more exposure to Natsume'...
