As Natsume becomes more committed to protecting both humans and yokai he begins to gain a deeper emotional understanding. My favorite story in this set was the one where sensei hatches an egg.

The backstory about Natsume coming to live with the Fujiwaras is a little manipulative, but it made me cry anyway. Oh, Aunt Toko!I love seeing Natsume get back together with Tanuma and Taki, who know more about him than most people. I hope they will all have adventures together.
