Mr. Sedaris is always good for a laugh or a smile. This is the 2nd of his books I have read and I will look for more. These are short essays chronicling his life in various locations and how he has had to adapt. If you like stories to improve your mood, get acquainted with Sedaris.

I wish the Sedaris family starred in their own TV sitcom. They're all so quirky and weird and funny in their own different ways, and I'd really like to be able to watch all of their shenanigans from the comfort of my sofa. I suppose David's collection of novels will have to tide me over until some p...

A series of comical anecdotes of life. Truly amazing how the author can always find something ridiculous in everything. Light & easy to listen to - David Sedaris read his own work. I really liked that I get to hear the author's own voice!! He did a good job too

This wasn't my favorite David Sedaris book, but it still made me laugh ... just not as much.

A slapstick clowning of life experiences which seems to be coming from a bitchy and sarcastic middle-aged man. The book does have its share of good humor and wit, yet it is just a feeble attempt to make a mockery of people from a childish mind.

Mhgoblue "forced" me to buy this when I met her in NYC last year. I'd heard David Sedaris mentioned in passing before, but never read anything by him, and as I trust M's judgement I went for it :)I'm not quite sure I get the point of books like this (or "Travelling Mercies" or "Pitching My Tent" whi...
