This is one of the best book that I've ever read. The author, Arthur Golden a student of Japanese Arts describes an incredible world and practice of geisha. It is known that these women keep their life in secret, so the book is even more powerful thanks to that. I enjoyed it and highly recommend.

Most sickening book ever, just saying. But I really liked it, and I liked how it was from Chiyo's point of view even though I usually don't like first person perspective. Not a fan of Nobu, it seemed like for a while they were trying to make him out to be this nice guy who had a tortured soul or wha...

I got tricked into thinking this actually was Chiyo's biography. I read the preface by the imaginary professor matter of factly, not giving much thought to it. This book was incredible. I loved it, and learning about the Japanese culture and what exactly it meant to live in the world of a Geisha.

This book blew me away. I was totally captivated after the first or second page, and literally had to tear myself away from it while I was reading so that I could do the daily things I needed to. This is a must read, in my opinion.

This was a good book. Well-written. Entertaining. And as I don't concern myself overly with the historical accuracy of fiction, I find myself unconcerned with that whole debate and able to rate the book with 4 stars.
