Can I just say I don't think and I just don't believe that King ever wrote something bad? It is impossible! Misery is, I think, a good book from more than one point of view : it's well written, it has an amazing subject, the characters are well described and they are put in situations in order to br...

The most meta King book I've read--about fans, writing, and creativity. Pitch-black humor, allusions to everyone from H. Rider Haggard to John Fowles, a claustrophobic setting, and an ever present sense of dread: good stuff!

4 1/2 probably. As with Vonnegut, I enjoy King more when there's a sense of realism to his stories. This is an excellent example of that.

This is got to be one of the most chilling Steven King books. I think it's so scary because it feels possible, like everything in the book is realistic and could happen. Lovin' me some horror books lately! Now, if they'd only make a GREAT horror movie, I'd be happy.

This was one of the creepiest books I have ever read. No wonder my dad was a little shaky having me read Stephen King when I was younger. After reading this, I don't think I will let my kids pick up his books until they're about thirty!(When I have children to worry about, that is)
