Aside from the stereotypes and biases and prejudices and bullying, this was a very fun read. Of course knew the story already, but I did not expect Barrie to be so witty in his writing.

2 stars for the last 1/3 of the book, no stars for the first 2/3.I think I would have liked this book more if I had skipped the introduction. I may have ended up seeing things that weren't really there. After reading the intro, I saw this book as nothing more then Barrie writing this story to get ov...

I enjoyed Peter Pan, although not as much as I thought I would. I think one of the reasons was that I didn't particularly like Peter as a character. He was clearly a spoiled brat and was arrogant. It's difficult for me to engage completely in a book when the title character is unlikeable. It was sti...

Back in August, I read Tiger Lily by Jody Lynn Anderson, a retelling of Peter Pan told by Tinker Bell's point of view. (Sounds awesome, right? :D) I was so impressed by this wonderful book that I just had to read the original story by J.M. Barrie. When I finally found it at a local bookstore I immed...

This is a great tale... but not a very good book. It's rife with "product of it's times" passages that make me wince with the audacity of them, but at its heart is a lovely story about creativity and childhood and loss and love. I loved this tale as a childhood, but as an adult - and perhaps this is...

When I picked up this hold/request, the librarian and I ooohed and aahhhed over it. It's a gorgeous book. It's also large and heavy, which makes it virtually impossible to read in bed. This is very much A Sitting Up Book.In addition to the annotated text of Peter Pan, the book contains a large nu...

First sentence: "All children, except one, grow up."P. 99: "Tink darted up the nearest tree; but no one followed her, for it was at this moment that the pirates made their dreadful attack upon the redskins."Last sentence: "When Margaret grows up, she will have a daughter, who is to be Peter's mother...

I like Peter Pan, or Peter and Wendy... I think it is one of my all time favorite "classic" books to recommend to anyone. I just like J.M. Barrie's style of writing...a lot better than Lewis's Carroll's...

I read this again after watching Neverland on TV at Christmas. It never really loses it's sparkle.

When I was a child, I had a story book with an excerpt from "Peter Pan." I loved the little chapter, and have just read the book in its entirety for the first time. What a completely splendid romp! Barrie's delightful tale of the Darling children and their visit with the Lost Boys is both poignant ...
