WOW... this was such a good book I don't even know what to say about it besides that I loved it! The way Logan and Aura love each other is just beautiful! I cried at almost every scene with Aura and Logan... Some were good tears and some were sad tears. I love when a book can touch me and this book ...

This book started out well, but ultimately I found it disappointing. There never seemed to be a real point to anything. It was like the story was chasing its tale in order to find out where it should go. I thought Zachary was a great character, but Logan & Aura just couldn't get a grip on the world...

Shade is a new twist to the paranormal genre. In this world all children born after the "Shift" can see and talk to ghosts. Sixteen year old Aura is one of those who can communicate with the dead. This can be a bit of an intrusion on her life when ghosts interrupt her lunch to talk, but mainly the v...

I haven't wanted to stay up and read all night in a long time and I had to stay up and finish this. Of course, Shade is a paranormal romance for young adults, but it has a unique perspective that is different from the usual stories. The writing is just beautiful, the characters well-drawn and th...

Way too often, I overestimate the greatness of Young Adult supernatural reads, but I'm sorry to admit that I underestimated SHADE. I saw it around GoodReads and blogs, but despite its amazing purple cover, I didn't give it much thought. Don't overlook Jeri Smith-Ready's debut YA offering, you'll sin...

5 Stars - I’ve been trying to write this review for a couple days now and the words just don’t want to come to me. Not because this book was bad, it was far from it. It was amazing. It’s not often that I find a book that I love a much as this one – examples of books that fall in this same category ...

Shade is a novel of complex layers, each deeper and darker than the next. Smith-Ready lures readers into believing that her novel could be just another novel about "ghosts," but believe me, it's not. On the surface, this is a novel of love and relationships... of almost everyday type of interactions...

This book was really different. There were elements of mystery, romance, and supernatural. Jeri-Smith Ready created a book that has all of these things and more. While I was a little hesitant about this book in the beginning, as soon as I got into the story and started seeing Aura's relationship with...

Astonishingly beautiful. While so many of the characters in ya novels are superficial and bland. Logan and Aura's relationship was raw and genuine. The plot and characters are well constructed and masterfully written.

Smith-Ready is one of my auto-buy authors. This is her first YA outing, and she hits the ball out of the park! Shade is sweetly romantic with a little paranormal twist. It's refreshing to see teens who aren't "over-angsting". It's also nice to see YA novel that isn't filled with dysfunctional adults...
