I have finally, after reading The Giver about 14 years ago, finished The Giver series! Granted, this only came out two years ago. This book tied together the story started in the Giver and the communities we saw in Gathering Blue and Messenger. I liked going back to the community where it all star...

This is a short review of all the four books together!I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SERIES!!!!!4 Novellas that tell 4 stories that can also be read as stand-alones. Each story is unique with its description of the world, yet when you read all four Novellas you can see the larger picture.Awesome concept, a...

Another great book by Lois Lowry... I enjoyed thos last book of the series because it pull characters ftom each book and gave them closure. I enjoy books that have a purpose and a ending that brings it full circle. I wish there were more books in this series.

This last book didn't live up to my expectations from the other three in the series. I have had a while to process, and I think it was a fine ending. Knowing what happens to everyone involved is ok. Seeing that more people are still developing 'powers' that others don't have can give you a lot of...

Just like the rest of the series, Son is a companion novel to the Giver. I thought it was one of the more interesting books in the series because it’s a companion to the Giver AND coexists for with the Giver for a good portion of the story. We learned Jonas and Gabe’s story in the Giver so it was v...

Check out Scott Reads It! for giveaways, reviews & more! I started The Giver Quartet long ago and it feels bittersweet ending a series that I hold so dearly. Finishing Son felt like saying goodbye to a dear friend who you've known for years, and I didn't want this friendship to be over. Like friend...

Holy crud, I didn't realize this was being released this year! I'll have to catch up on the series then by reading the second and third books before this one.

Son was a mostly well-done conclusion to The Giver quartet. Claire is a great addition to the cast of Giver characters, she's well-developed and you really feel for her throughout her journey. The novel is divided into three parts: Before, Between and Beyond. Before and Between are both strong sect...

I love The Giver. I count it as one of my favorite books of all time. It was the book that inspired me to read and made me want to write. And I should have stopped at The Giver. My ratings of the books in the series have gotten progressively worse. I liked Gathering Blue, wish I didn't read The Mess...
