When Pete Caldecot was 16 she saw something magical. With her sister's boyfriend, Jack Winter, they conjured something, a man of shadows and smoke, a creature Jack couldn't stop or hold within his circle. And Pete saw it kill him. She's 28 now and a police inspector with the MET – and investigating a...
I am torn between 2 and 3 stars. I liked it and it was OK. The slang took some getting used to. I think the world building left me with a lot of questions. Gritty but a little disjointed. I will read the next book in the series to see where it goes.
Short & Sweet review: My 4 Star rating is based on my love for the characters. I can't think of two more compelling UF characters as a duo right out of the gate at page 1. It is one thing to have a childhood crush but really why the v...

My feelings for this book are all over the place. It's one of those rare books where I'm still not sure if I liked it or not. I think it may have fallen victim to what I call the genre switch. I read so many different genres that when I go and read a genre that I haven't read in awhile the first boo...
