I have seen most of the films but I haven't read any of the corresponded books, apart from Stardust. As far as that book is concerned the movie was indeed better. (And the graphic novel)

The Queen of the Tearling series follow a young girl on her journey to reclaim her throne. I really liked the series and would recommend to fantasy fans who don't mind slow narrations. Below I link to my reviews of the books:
