Act 1, Scene 1
Much Ado About Nothing - William Shakespeare

BENEDICK Then is courtesy a turncoat. But it is certain I am loved of all ladies, only you excepted. And I would I could find in my heart that I had not a hard heart, for truly I love none.

BEATRICE A dear happiness to women. They would else have been troubled with a pernicious suitor. I thank God and my cold blood I am of your humour for that. I had rather hear my dog bark at a crow than a man swear he loves me.

BENEDICK God keep your ladyship still in that mind. So some gentleman or other shall scape a predestinate scratched face.

BEATRICE Scratching could not make it worse an 'twere such a face as yours were.

The Case Is Closed - Patricia Wentworth

I’ve just read the incident on the fog-bound road. I thought that was well done and not at all what I was expecting.

Hilary is the making of this novel. I love her imp and its rhymes.

Much Ado About Nothing - William Shakespeare
Much Ado About Nothing (Arkangel Shakespeare) - William Shakespeare,Samuel West,Arkangel Cast,Amanda Root

Last weekend I read/listened to a drama by Shakespeare, this weekend its one of his comedies that I will be tackling.

I already listened to the first act of the play and the scene has been set:

Young Claudio is in love with Hero, but he is too shy to talk to her himself, so his friend has to do it for him (because the men in this story are apparently 12 years old). And said friend will pass the woman along to Claudio. Truly, this doesn´t sound like a good idea at all. I wonder how this will play out.

Meanwhile Beatrice and Benedick have a clash of words. He wants to remain single forever, she doesn´t want to marry either and they basically dislike each other. Or do they?

And there is the evil bastard brother thrown into the mix as well, who will cause some mayhem, me thinks.

And BT just joined in and we are doing an impromptu buddy read. Yeah :D

The Complete Works (Oxford Shakespeare) - William Shakespeare,John Jowett,Gary Taylor
Much Ado About Nothing - William Shakespeare

An impromptu buddy read with Lillelara of Much Ado About Nothing.  :)

I don't have the Arkangel version of the audio production for this one, even tho they are my go-to favourites. My version of Much Ado has Rex Harrison in it.

No Tears for Hilda: Max Easterbrook Investigates - Andrew Garve

Erm, ... I can already tell that this book is not for me, and unless Garve turns around everything that annoys me about this book so far by the end of No Tears for Hilda, I'm sure that Garve will be banned from my TBR, too.

I'm going to take a break from this right now. I just have very little patience at the moment for cliche, misogyny, and pop psychology.
