I really, really liked this book! There are so many things I loved about this book, but unfortunately, there is one thing I did not like about this book. Let me start off with the thing that I did not like so that I can end this review with the things I liked!
I did not like how the author would change points of view in the middle of the chapter. At one second, it would be in the point of view of Han, and then the next it would be in the point of view of Raisa. And the change of POV's were not in any set order. It would get confusing at some times and it was hard to keep up with. Now, let's move on to the good things.
I really liked how much action the author put in this book. At one point in every chapter, something was happening and somebody was fighting somebody else. The first page was made up of....well, I don't want to give away anything, so I am just going to say that it was made up of action from the very first page. Literally. If you like action, then read this book.
The next thing I liked about this book was how when a character was feeling an emotion, the author described it really well. For example, the author didn't say, "Han was feeling sad.". She said, "Grief ripped through my body, leaving a trail of remorse in its wake. My mind was dizzy and I was in denial of the events that I had just witnessed." Doesn't that sound interesting? Those are not the exact words, but they are similar.
Another thing I liked about this book was that the characters had good problems. They weren't like, "Oh, my makeup is messed up." They had problems that affected a whole country. The author really explained the problems well and how the character reacted to it.
I loved so many more things about this book, but I don't want this review to get too long. If you haven't read this book, PLEASE read it and comment below whether you liked it or not and why. Thanks for reading this review!
