The entire Amy Lane Mysteries series is currently free on Kindle

I don't generally read Kindle books and I already own almost all of these either in e-book form or in paperback, but I got them anyway. Free is nice, and I could see myself rereading them while waiting in line at the grocery store. Also, I used my "purchase" of the Kindle version of Binary Witness to get the audibook for $1.99 on Audible. I've been wanting to listen to it for a while, and since it's an Audible Exclusive, I don't think it's possible to ever find it in Overdrive.

If you don't know about this series, it stars an agoraphobic hacker and the ex-con who manages to convince her to let him clean her house and occasionally make her something to eat.

Christmas at Two Love Lane
Christmas at Two Love Lane - Kieran Kramer

Title: Christmas at Two Love Lane
Author: Kieran Kramer
Publisher: St. Martin's Press
Rating: Five
Review:

"Christmas At Two Love Lane" by Kieran Kramer

My Thoughts...

This was a good lovely seasonal/holiday romantic read that even had little bit of comedy in it. I loved the Charleston setting for this read that this author brought out so very well. The two main characters well just let me say were 'phenomenal.' Definitely matchmaker Macy really meets her match when introduced to that bachelor Deacon. With Macy being in the business of matchmaking will Deacon find the date that will make his Aunt happy? Will it take the whole town to help Macy see that she too was capable to being loved?

The author really works the story is presented with so much 'drama, humor, spice, touching, flirting and let's not leave out all of this seasonal holiday happening' along with a wonderful dialogue that will keep one turning the pages to see what will happen next. So, if you are looking for a good holiday read I would definitely recommend this one to you.

Kindle Firsts for June 2017 (free ARC from Amazon Imprints)
The Man of Legends - Kenneth Johnson
Soho Dead (The Soho Series Book 1) - Greg Keen
Stillhouse Lake - Rachel Caine
Wives of War - Soraya M. Lane
The Man Who Could Be King: A Novel - John Ripin Miller
Lost in Arcadia: A Novel - Sean Gandert

Amazon prime members get to choose one of these free and ahead of their publication date.  As has been true all of this year and last year, every choice has been published under an Amazon imprint.

For myself, nothing appeals (not even the dystopian that I can easily see happening -- ugh -- the description on product page is just quoted praises if you don't click to see more).

So for June, I've downloaded "none of the above."

The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane
The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane - Lisa See

The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See presents a culture to explore and a strong heroine to feel for. For me, the first and the second half of the book don't match up. The first half is more focused; the second half feels more scattered and rushed. The deeper and slower pace of the first half works better in this case. The book is still enjoyable in its entirety, but some of the depth is lost to the momentum and speed of the second half.
