Scorching
Chief's Mess - L.A. Witt

This is book #3 in the Anchor Point series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and understanding of the series, I recommend reading in order.

Anthony does not want to be here.  He promised his sister, and here he is.  On a break from the family drama, he meets Noah.  Very hot and very quickly they click.

Noah is more than happy to go home with a hot and willing guy.  How would he know this guy would change the direction of his future?  As long as they meet in the middle, the future looks bright.

This book was hot and intense right from the start.  I found the characters endearing, and I rooted for them right away.  Such a sexy series.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

This sexy, emotionally charged romance continues the story of Damien Stark, the powerful multimillionaire who’s never had to take “no” for an answer, and his beloved wife Nikki Fairchild Stark, the Southern belle who only says “yes” on her own terms.

It’s a new chapter in the life of Nikki and Damien Stark ...

Though shadows still haunt us, and ghosts from our past continue to threaten our happiness, my life with Damien is nothing short of perfection. He is my heart and my soul. My past and my future. He is the man who holds me together, and his love fuels my days and enchants my nights.

But when tragedy and challenge from both inside and outside the sanctity of our marriage begins to chip away at our happiness, I am forced to realize that even a perfect life can begin to crack. And if Damien and I are going to win this new battle, it will take all of our strength and love

Our Review

I have to say that I loved this story cover to cover.I have to say that this was just my luck to pick up this story and it has to be the end of the trilogy .Regardless I could not help but be addicted to the characters Ms. Jenner wrote about and went a got the rest of the books in its series and read the entire series in two days and fell in love with her characters all over again.

This was one hot read and also her previous books in its series. And addictive read that had me engrossed from the very first pages.I loved the drama, love, chemistry, role playing, suspense, the off the chart sex scenes along with dealing with some serious life altering issues.

I normally pick a favorite in each book to go on about but its just to hard to choose between Damien and Nikki so I am choosing them both they were both amazing characters that I could not help but be drawn to both of them.

I love so much about Nikki her strength, sense of humor, how open and honest she is,ambitious, how she loves whole heartily, her possessiveness when it comes to Damien and how smart and sexy she is and how she chose to deal with her pain in a more positive way.

Omg Damien I fell head over heels for him from the get go.I loved that he was smart, sexy, ambitious, loved his dark side along with his Dominate side ,how he loved whole heartily as well, how possessive he was of Nikki and her needs and wants and her happiness and how he always put her first.I love how he gave as much as he took.

The sexual chemistry was off the charts for this couple.I love how they added humor and playfulness into their sexual games to make it so much more exciting for both of them.I loved all the side character's as well. They added humor and fun to the pages when it took on more of a more serious tone.Ollie and Jamie were love able characters as well even with all their faults and bad decisions they kept constantly making. They made me laugh ,especially Jamie and the things that came out of that girls mouth to funny..Jamie was the perfect friend for Nikki they were total opposites that kept each other in check.

I love when your able to connect with the character's you read about and I was able to make that connection with both Nikki and Jamie.Fate had a hand in bringing this couple together at the right time and place.Damien was just what Nikki needed and vise versa they needed one another to heal their wounded souls and bring them true happiness both of them deserved.

A winner in our book and definitely goes in the keeper pile to read over and over again. If you love suspense, humor, really hot sex scene's ( and their are tons of them) with the Dominate and submissive role playing angle with a very touching emotional love story that tackled some really painful issues that a couple deals with in childhood as well as adulthood this is the perfect story for you. This is not the kind of story for those that have a sensitive natures it deals with real raw emotions the kink aspect in a couples relationship that brings sexual gratification to both parties that gives them what the need ,want enjoy .Not a story for those who are vanilla that is for sure the open minded yes.

I love a story that gives you a lot to think about after its over.Like how if you were Nikki could you cope with all the drama that came from begin in love with a very powerful and wealthy man? Deal with enemies he's made along the way,the secrets he carries , the press never allowing you a moments piece and constantly invading your personal life?Someone constantly out to get you and ruin the happiness you have finally found to complete you? Could you love someone like that and eventually not let all those things come between you ? Perhaps break you?I love when a story just sticks with you after its over and has you thinking back to something that made you laugh or cry throughout the day when you finished the story hours or days ago.

What more can I say? I loved it along with the other books in its series as well as the novella's and would recommend reading. If you loved Fifty shades of Grey give this series a look at it just be just what your looking for next.

5 star read for us

If You Give a Moose a Muffin
If You Give a Moose a Muffin Book and Audio CD Set (Paperback) - Laura Numeroff,Felicia Bond

If You Give a Moose a Muffin is a fun story about a moose that is given a muffin, then wanting jam to go with it, then he'll want to go to the store to get more muffin mix. I read this story along with If You Give a Mouse a Cookie when I was a child, and I enjoyed both of these stories.

This book would be great to use in a kindergarten or first grade classroom. You could either do a lesson on cause and effect, or sequencing. For cause and effect, you can together make a cause and effect anchor chart and determine which events in the stories are caused or affected by which. You could also make a sequencing anchor chart and have the students put the events in order.

Book Review: Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster - Jon Krakauer

Into Thin Air is both thrilling and terrifying. Not that I was considering it, but I will now never take mountain climbing as a hobby — especially mountains where high-altitude sickness is a problem. Krakauer includes the history of Mount Everest along with the day-to-day events of his expedition, which added an interesting, enjoyable element to the novel. Not only was I reading a great story, I felt like I was learning a lot too.

Into Thin Air is a tragic story that is wonderfully told. The level of detail included in the descriptions is remarkable. I felt like I was climbing Everest with the author, going through the same psychological and physical torture. I also got to know those who climbed with him, sharing in their successes and failures. I want to note that there is a controversy as to whether the events happened like Krakauer said they happened; I am sure, with all that was going on at the time, that there are discrepancies with events, but I doubt that they are serious since he also interviewed multiple people who were there as well.

I would recommend this book for anyone who is at all interested in adventure or memoirs. If you’re squeamish, you should maybe stay away, since there are descriptions of some pretty awful sights and diseases (I got queasy more than a few times). However, I think that Into Thin Air is a novel most people will find a worthwhile read.
