This is unintentionally humorous. For example:

"Bookshelves are not just for books," Berkus says. On his shelves, Berkus has framed family photos, a piece of coral bought at a flea market, a small figurine brought back from vacation, and some hidden treasures picked up a garage sale.

In my reality, this would only work if I piled even more of my books in my closet than are already there. My bookshelves are as full as I can make them. There is literally no room to artfully display a figurine or a picture frame. What's the point of my bookcases if they're not storing as much of my ridiculously large library as possible?

 When I first discovered YouTube/BookTube I went crazy with purchasing all the hyped Young Adult books. I've read over 100 and have found a few gems but for me they are redundant and sometimes too juvenile in content. Last Year I donated over 300 books to my local library and was extremely pleased to do so. However, I was disgusted by my lack of research and bandwagon behavior. 

I held on to some of the unread YA books just not wanting to lose more money or acknowledge the obvious...I needed that space for all the books piled on my floor! On Saturday night at 6pm I got up off my comfy chair and got busy. Remember, I declared 2015 as the year to declutter and refresh. Around 2:40 am I had reorganized 5 bookcases, pulled over 120 books, and felt a sense of accomplishment. 

I was committed to sell the pulled unread/new books to recoup some of my funds but have again decided to donate them to a library that doesn't receive adequate funding for YA and new/current books. I've been making better decisions when purchasing kindle and physical books. Also, I'm now confidant in the genres that I love and know I don't need to acquire any new books. I just need to read.....QUICKLY. Lol

This is why I've been away. I will be back to reading, commenting and reviewing soon. In the process I've donated over 300 books to my local hospital, library and Goodwill. After realizing that I needed 1 more shelf to house books missed in a corner, I had to pull more books off the shelves to make room. Those I will be donating as well. Hopefully this arduous undertaking will be completed by Tuesday. Please cross fingers with me.

As I'm still sorting out my books into my bookcases I thought I'd show you my collection.

I have piles and piles of books that will be leaving my home for greater pastures. I'm becoming stronger everyday and more vigilant about letting go of the books I know I won't read. As I place the books on the shelves they're filling up faster than I anticipated. I thought I'd have more room, but I forgot that my books were previously double stacked!
