Another look at the Witchblade legend - a new creative tram - quite good.
Witchblade (2017) #1 - Bryan Valenza,Roberta Ingranata,Caitlin Kittredge

This latest look at the Witchblade brings us a new possessor of the Witchblade with all her problems and doubts. It introduces a whole load of subordinate characters and the whole thing works well even if the reader is not familiar with previous incarnations. The plot moves along at a reasonable pace and the illustrations are not as refined as in previous series but are still of good quality. Quite good stuff – and now on to Volume 2.

The plot thickens - who can be trusted?
Throwaways Volume 2 - Caitlin Kittredge Throwaways Volume 2 - Caitlin Kittredge

Abby and Dean continue to try to survive as various government agencies, some open, some secret, pursue them or attempt to manipulate them. It also becomes evident that nobody can be trusted.

The artwork is reasonably clear and the story is quite clear. I’m not over-excited by it but found it well worth a read. The story will continue in a further volume (or two ..) Read Volume 1 first otherwise it really won’t be clear.

Street Magic
Street Magic - Caitlin Kittredge I loved all of the British banter. A believable relationship between the MCs that develops over time as the story unfolds never happens! It seems like they magically just love each other or can't stand each other on one page then three pages over are ripping each other's clothes off. The most unbelievable part of this ghost/paranormal story is that she wasn't fired for taking off so much time from work with no explanation. This book was totally entertaining, and got me in the mood for the royal wedding this week! (Meghan and Harry's)

Yes!
Witchblade (2017) #1 - Bryan Valenza,Roberta Ingranata,Caitlin Kittredge

Complete reboot of Witchblade written and drawn by a woman.

It's compelling, because it's got the same feel while being new, too, and I'm loving the trend of novelists writing comics.

Beautiful art, and Alex Underwood, the former reporter with PTSD, is a fuller character than I'd expected.   She also now works with victims in New York City, and advocates for them.

And she's got the Witchblade, although she doesn't want to acknowledge it yet.   She thinks her 'hallucinations' are part of her PTSD.

We get a glimpse of her real power at the end of issue one.   Probably going to keep getting this digitally at this point.   I just don't have the room or money to keep adding paper books to my pull list :/

Black Ops series continues as we discover more about the Alphas
Throwaways Volume 2 - Caitlin Kittredge Throwaways Volume 2 - Caitlin Kittredge

This collection deals with two main characters, Dean Logan and Abigail Palmer. He is the son of a paranoid survivalist who develops telekinetic powers amongst others while she is a “Manchurian Candidate” type of Special Ops operative who has been programmed. Both are on the run from all sorts and are befriended by others trying to help them. However it all smells of “who do you trust?” We find out more about the other Alphas and secret government agencies as everybody sems to be plotting against everybody else. Quite engaging and novel, it sets up at least one other volume as the plot thickens. The illustrations are quite good but could be more detailed or clearer. There's plenty of fighting and many would enjoy this book.
