Before I Go to Sleep
Before I Go to Sleep - S.J. Watson,Orlagh Cassidy

Every morning, Christine wakes up in an unfamiliar bed, in an unfamiliar house shared with a man who tells her that he is her husband Ben. He tells her that she has amnesia because of an accident that happened 20 years before. It's a little bit like "What if 50 First Dates were a thriller?"

Christine gets a call from a man who identifies himself as Dr. Nash. He tells her where to find a journal she has been keeping. Maybe through the journal and interventions from Dr. Nash, she can regain lost memories and piece together what has happened to her.

I ripped through this book quickly, wanting to find out what happened. I quickly developed theories, some of which were correct--though there was a twist I did not see coming. Although I was thoroughly engaged, it did turn out the be the kind of plot where, once resolved, I thought, "But that would never happen!

And once it was over, I wished there were at least one more chapter.

48 Hour Lockdown
48 Hour Lockdown - Cassidy, Carla

48 Hour Lockdown is an edge of seat romantic suspense that kicks off the Tactical Crime Division series in style. I love a good second chance romance and Evan and Annalise's second chance starts off under high tension circumstances, and Carla Cassidy builds on that tension steadily as the story progresses. We get a double whammy on the suspense side of this one. On the one hand, there are the bad guys we can see, and on the other, there's the bad guy working behind the scenes who remains a mystery until the end. Now, I did eventually guess the identity of the mystery man or woman, but the author didn't make it too easy. Then we have the romance, and I'll admit that I was a little worried about how this one would work under the circumstances, but it's very well done, and I love that time is taken for these two to take a look at what happened the first time around. All in all, this first TCD book is a fast-paced, entertaining read with characters you genuinely want to root for. It's full of tense, sit up a pay attention moments as well as a plenty of feels romance. Carla Cassidy has set the bar high for the rest of this series, and I can't wait to see what's next.

Great Romantic Suspense
Scene of the Crime: Killer Cove (Harlequin Intrigue) - Carla Cassidy

Scene Of The Crime: Killer Cove is a spectacular romantic suspense by Carla Cassidy.  Ms. Cassidy has provided readers with a well-written book populated with an outstanding cast of characters.  Bo had left town because everyone thought he was a murderer, but he's returned to bury his mother.  Claire never believed Bo was a killer and she wants him to stay and help her find the real killer.  Bo and Claire's story is packed with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense.  I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more from Carla Cassidy soon.  Scene Of The Crime: Killer Cove is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I read a print copy of this book.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

White Witchmas
White Witchmas - Dakota Cassidy

Finn left the night of their engagement party with no explanation. It turns out he was in jail (the magical kind) and is now back to serve out his parole. Cozy (yes, that's her name) was understandably hurt and wants nothing to do with him (but, of course she really does!). I felt a little lost with the cast of characters, so it took lots of time to figure that all out. Then there were doggy diapers and the Depends Patrol (yes, really).
And of course there is a reasonable explanation for everything:

Finn was really undercover and Cozy has *special* powers!
