All for a Button
Corduroy - Don Freeman

Review:

This book is about a Teddy Bear who goes on a huge adventure trying to find his missing button. The Teddy Bear cannot figure out why he isn't being picked to go home with someone. After his long adventure and going through several obstacles to find his button the security guard finds him and returns him to his shelf downstairs. That next day his dream comes true and a little girl chooses him.

Corduroy

Guided Reading: Level K

This book is about a sweet bear that leaves the comfort of the department store in hopes of finding a little girl to love him. This a great story to read to kids to show them how to have hope and compassion. I would use this in a lesson around Valentines Day. This is a great time to talk a=bout the love that my students have for their things and loved ones.

Corduroy
Corduroy - Don Freeman

This story of a small teddy bear waiting on a department store shelf for a child's friendship is an endless classic your students will love. This story targets younger readers with a reading level of 2-5 years. The adorable main character, Corduroy, is a stuffed teddy bear sure to pull on any reader's heart strings.

This book has many ways you can use it in your classroom. A great way to use this boo in your classroom is to let students read the story and make a connection with the character of Corduroy. When the students are done reading, have them write their own adventures with Corduroy, the stuffed bear.

Corduroy
Corduroy - Don Freeman

This is a cute little story about a bear that wants to find a home. He realizes one day that he is missing a button and is on the search to find it. A little girl that has been wanting Corduroy saved up all of her money and the next day she came and bought him. She took Corduroy home and gave him a brand new button and a new home. For my classroom, I would like to have my students create a character web of words that describe Corduroy.

Corduroy - Don Freeman

Corduroy was first published in 1968 by Don Freeman. This story is about a stuffed toy bear, by the name of Corduroy, who lives his life on the shelf of a department store. Corduroy longs to have a sense of belonging and friendship. One day, Corduroy meets a little girl who instantly falls in love him and eventually adopts him. I would incorporate this book into my counting math unit. The students would complete a learning with buttons activity where they could glue a variety of buttons onto a laminated teddy bear and add up their total number of buttons at the end of the activity. This book is a 3.5 on the Accelerated Reading leveling system.
