Prescient
Prescient - Derek Murphy **This book has been renamed [b:Prophet of Doom: Delphi Chronicles Book One|37660002|Prophet of Doom Delphi Chronicles Book One|D.S. Murphy|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1514047043s/37660002.jpg|59258122]**

Alicia was practically invisible - at least until one night at a party where she tripped into the future. And not to one of those fantastic futures where everything is techy and white and better. No, this future held abandoned skeletons, degenerated humans, and a remnant of humanity driven to destroy each other. Alicia needs to change that future if she ever hopes to have the happily ever after she'd grown up dreaming about. But even if she can change the future, after visiting it, will she want to?

The story is incredible. I've read a few of the author's books, and of all that I read, this is the series I'm hoping he finishes first. There are so many great twists, and the author's take on an apocalyptic future and how it's achieved is wild. Really gripping and gut-wrenching, a true page-turner.

Fair warning, though - the book includes several elements that may not be appreciated - like smoking a pot-like plant, a fair amount of cussing, and a near rape situation (seems to be a common element in the author's writing). It's worth it for the story, though, if you're not easily offended.

Guerrilla Publishing: Revolutionary Book Marketing Strategies
Guerrilla Publishing: Revolutionary Book Marketing Strategies - Derek Murphy As an author, marketing is frustrating. I don't have tons of money to throw at ads, and with all the information out there, you could run around like a chicken with your head cut off and still accomplish next to nothing. That's why Derek's methods are so refreshing. It's simple, easy to sustain, and can produce lasting results. Plus he's got these great actionable plans that help you set up your marketing. Really worth a read for indie authors.

The Scarlet Thread
The Scarlet Thread - Derek Murphy The Scarlet Thread - Derek Murphy Ugh, killing me here. The story was interesting, then captivating, and then it ended. :( But I signed up for the newsletter, so I'll get the rest of the story as soon as he writes it, but man, talk about ripping your heart out.

Kaidance is in juvenile detention for killing her brother, except she tried desperately to prevent his death after she saw it. Problem is, no one believed her. Then, one day she sneaks off with her friend to a party, gets bored and then creeped out by some guy with gold eyes who's staring at her, and after a brief and confusing encounter, returns to the facility. But when she gets thrown in solitary confinement, she hears the voice of the golden-eyed guy again, and wakes to find herself in an impossible situation that quickly leads to her escape, and into an adventure she never could have imagined. Let's just suffice to say there's a lot of weird stuff going on at the mansion of the gods, and Kaidance finds herself in the middle of an ancient war.

It definitely starts out rather dark, but once the real adventure begins, the story picks up momentum, and lightens up ever so slightly. I found the characters interesting, and the setting (the later one) just fascinating. The story drops off in the midst of a heart-pounding scene, and that was a little shocking, but fingers crossed the author finishes the book soon, because I'm dying to know what happens next.

How to Stop Time: Superhuman Time Mastery Miracles that will Skyrocket Productivity and Motivation
How to Stop Time: Superhuman Time Mastery Miracles that will Skyrocket Productivity and Motivation - Derek Murphy
The usual, hire people that do the work for you and create things that keep earning money in perpetuity, cliches on how to make more money, have more free time and be more productive.
As someone that owned a business for years and made good money, I can personally attest that some of us no matter how hard we work or how many books we read will never be good at managing people and will never have those magical skills that enable us to hire those people that let us move on with the other things in our lives.
That is the skill I simply am convinced you are either born with or not and people that have this skill never understand how to teach it to those of us that do not.
I did enjoy the sincerity of the author and though he may not be covering new ground he covers issues that are worth reading about again.
Even if you do not usually enjoy these type books, read just the epilogue, especially if you can get the book for free as that is, by far, what I enjoyed the most.
The next best thing about the book may be its cover, probably the reason I read it. Kudos to the author for understanding the importance of a catchy cover.
