El Presidio Rides North - Domashita Romero,地下ロメロ,neomeruru

This one is funny and awesome, as any other book written by Domashita Romero. It's like gay Zombieland with a hardened and mad guy (who speaks Spanish) and a twink (the last twink in the world, probably).

"This is totally a fluke, I swear. You've just really inspired me to grow some balls. What is that in Spanish? Conejos?"

Mercury laughed and I heard him start to get dressed. "That's close enough for me, bunny."

I don't know who I liked the most. Mercury left his brains somewhere in the way because he is insane. But he is smart in a way that has me charmed. But Gaga is adorable, I mean, he has a romantic and pure idea of love, and even in the midst of the apocalypse, this has not changed. This only made my like him even more. And apparently, Mercury too.

These two find each other by chance and decide to go together to Canada in El Presidio, a monstrosity of a car. Along the way, they find in each other the last thing they expected to find. None of them would have looked twice before that day when all hell broke loose with zombies. And even after, they wouldn't have, either. Mercury is not Gaga's type and... everybody is Mercury's type. Which shouldn't have come as a surprise to me because he's a species of his own. Almost literally. And he's non-shamelessly hot.

I know this may sound awful coming from me, but the Spanish in English books is usually... distracting if not childish and/or ridiculous. Mostly there are lots of mistakes, but in other cases the content is plainly hilarious (in a bad sense).

But here, I honestly don't know what has changed, here the Spanish fit, it being said out loud or it being written words in tattoos, it was hilarious (in a good sense) and it was cool. Sometimes it was hot. Maybe it's because Mercury is crazy as hell, or maybe Domashita Romero indeed knows how to write. Anyway, I can comfortably say this is the first time in a long time where my own language sounded "right". That's a lot for me. And I had fun in the process.

"Twenty questions?" Mercury said, after a while.

"Okay," I said. "Is it animal, vegetable, or mineral?"

Mercury made a thoughtful sound. "Kind of all three?"

"Is it a zombie?"

"Fuck!" he said, and laughed. I smiled up a the sky and closed my eyes. "Maybe that one's not so good."

I put my hands behind my head. "What's a vegetarian zombie's favorite food?"

"What?"

"Graaaaaaaaaiiins," I groaned. Mercury groaned, too, in a different way. "What's a zombie's favorite method of transportation?"

"Go on," he said.

"Traaaaaaaaaiiins." Mercury threw his shirt at me, and I laughed as it landed on my face. I didn't take it off right away; I was getting to like that smell.

"You do one more of those and I'm throwing you off the top of this thing."

I bit my lip and stayed quiet for a while, but I couldn't resist. "What's a zombie's favorite country to go to?" Mercury didn't respond, but I'd waited long enough. "Spaaaaiiiii--agh!!"

An of course, when they finally are together! Gaga!

All you need is Domashita Romero.

El Presidio Rides North - Domashita Romero,地下ロメロ,neomeruru

I liked this. I seem to have a fascination with zombie themed end of the world romances. I think this is my first M/M one, anyway.

My only issue with it really was the ending and how it wasn't really an ending. Stories like these could go on forever, with them surviving or dying in some way but this was rather vague. Though you'd think with their arsenal that they'd survive for a long time to come.

It was alright.

El Presidio Rides North
El Presidio Rides North - Domashita Romero,地下ロメロ,neomeruru In spite of being so short, this fanfic was very well written and the pace was good. It is definitely in the movie "Zombieland": Mercury is kinda like Woody Harrelson (a badass who loves to kill zombies) and Gaga is a bit like Jesse Eisenberg (cute nerdy with some OCD symptoms little guy). Besides, they agree to not tell each others real name, hence, Mercury and Gaga.

I would not say it is a romantic story, but it has it cute moments (the striptease, Gaga losing his virginity) but yikes, these guys do not take a shower as in days and cannot brush their teeth. And a bearded Mercury giving Gaga his first blow-job -yikes-, I cannot point out the lack of hygiene in this scene... Not to mention there is no safe-sex...

El Presidio Rides North
El Presidio Rides North - Domashita Romero,地下ロメロ,neomeruru An amusing humourous short story set in a world of zombie apocalypse (see 'The Walking Dead.') Young inexperienced 'Gaga' is rescued by the larger than life 'Mercury' and whisked around the country in a converted RV called 'El Presidio.'
description
'As my brain wound down, letting go of defense mechanisms and fear spasms to actually go to sleep, I had the thought that maybe I had actually died back there in the Wendy's. It wouldn't surprise me if the afterlife was as weird as this. Did you even get an afterlife if you became a zombie? Fuck it, I was going to sleep.'

And for all the fuck you know there's maybe an army of porn stars holed up somewhere in Hollywood, armed to the fucking teeth. Shit, I'd like to see that."
I couldn't help but smile at the thought. Maybe if society ever came back, someone would make that porno.
I would so pay to see that; someone should definitely take the idea of creation into consideration.

I'd been meaning to read this for a while, so naturally I finally get to it when I'm in the middle of a good Final Fantasy fanfic and when I should be trying to get on a good sleeping schedule for when the upcoming semester begins (a little over a week is not enough time holy shit, not with those hours, a case of chronic insomnia and the plans I have for this upcoming week that will ensure what sleep I aim for will be nonexistent), and I couldn't be happier. There's a reason I trust Erika when she promotes something and tells me I should hop on it already; there's a reason we allI look to S2B2 works and authors for good stories. If I was ever in doubt of either of those two things, this story would solidify my trust and ensure doubt never crossed my mind.
"Maybe we can find you something else to wear around here," Mercury said.
"You're looking for clothes in a strip club?"
Mercury shrugged and grinned at me. "Well, fuck, they gotta wear something before they take it off, right?"
There's just something beautiful about that. Really speaks to me *cheeky grin*.

There were some great sexy times in here, as well as a permeating coat of sexiness coloring their interactions throughout:
"Don't want a big ol' guy bending you over?" Mercury chuckled a little. "Or you bending a big ol' guy over? Which way you go for it, anyway?"
Here I'd thought that the end of the world might have meant I got to stop having incredibly awkward conversations. "Um, I don't..."
And countless amusing times:
Yeah, the girl-slap, a great weapon in the zombie-fighting arsenal. Good job.

Mercury threw the washcloth in the bucket with a splat and put his hands on his hips. "God fucking damn it, why do they keep showing up when I've got no pants on!"
It was also sometimes sweet and cute:
Mercury smiled and put one hand under my chin, tilting my head up like something out of the movies, and leaned in to give me the softest, sweetest, gentlest kiss, and oh. There they were, those fireworks. Even nicer than I'd imagined them.
However, much as I like this, it's not going to be my favorite gay zombie story or my favorite S2B2 work. The story that sits upon its throne in first place for both categories goes to No One Said It Would Be Easy by Kikuchi Makoto, a story that earned itself a special place in my heart and one I highly recommend to any and all who enjoy gay zombie stories, S2B2 entries, or enjoyed this story in particular.

Still, this story was the perfect fix while I put off reading [b:Slasherazzi|16053944|Slasherazzi|Daniel A. Kaine|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1399797597s/16053944.jpg|21838578] for just a bit longer (at least until after I finish that aforementioned FF fic, and until I see what ending reactions both Natasha and Nick have about it; that should be good).
