These essays are mostly about fatherhood though they do dip into religion (of the Christian variety) far too often for my comfort. There are certain things which seem to strike a chord in every parent, and a lot of those chords are lovingly plucked in these essays. Rarely maudlin and nearly always wry, Duin looks lovingly at his children and their lives in a way that engages and amuses.
