The second in the Crown of Shard series, Protect the Prince - Jennifer Estep, is dropping July 2, 2019 -- I just preordered.

It's the sequel to Kill the Queen - Jennifer Estep  .

Good book.  Did wrap up the series.  Plot didn't really have any surprises and somehow didn't draw me into the Legends of Paksenarrion series like the previous up-all-night-read-in-one-sitting volumes.  

I think without my extremely high expectations I would have enjoyed it more.

Not sure why or for how long, but today was $1.99.

Well, I suppose the series has improved for me already. 

If you can consider going from bland (with-potential) to outright disliked.

It's just been amplifying what I didn't care for in first books.  It's not that long, fits several group activities and I have been determined forever to finish this third-book-will-hook-you book.  Otherwise, I think I would have DNF'd the thing.  

Unless really changes in remaining pages -- I've definitely had it with Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden.  I just don't like being in his head or the story or the side characters (okay, Mister the kitty hasn't annoyed me.)
