Damn you, publishing industry!
The Secret World: A History of Intelligence - Christopher M. Andrew

There are times when I just want the publishing industry to take a year off so I can get caught up on my reading backlog. It's a sentiment that I felt again when I read about Christopher Andrew's new book. How am I expected to make progress in my TBR pile when they keep publishing books like this?

MI6: The History of the Secret Intelligence Service 1909-1949
MI6: The History of the Secret Intelligence Service 1909-1949 - Keith Jeffery I don't know how impressed I was with this book. My intent in reading it was for background information for my fiction novel, but I didn't get the kind of background in terms of spycraft, tradecraft or anything else that I expected.

The Code Book: The Science of Secrecy from Ancient Egypt to Quantum Cryptography
The Code Book: The Science of Secrecy from Ancient Egypt to Quantum Cryptography - Simon Singh This is an interesting read. Singh follows the history of cryptography since roman times till today. He build the construction well, a reader can find there characters development, technical and historical details. He also explains some interesting facts from contemporary history, e.g. concerning German Enigma that was used to coding during WWII. "The Code Book" is entertaining and informative. The highest score.
