Love by the Numbers
Love by the Numbers - Karin Kallmaker This story began in an interesting fashion, Lily running from something dark, all the while being a charmer with a gift for languages. The professor's story was not so interesting and read as if she were a robot learning to become human.

One did not require anything like "Nicole said" written on the page as it was quite obvious who was speaking with the empty use of a thesaurus to manufacture dialogue so stiff and dead. She comes across as an old curmudgeon, set in her ways and entirely antisocial, except of course, when she's "Cole", her sexual alter ego. Lily has one as well named "Libido". I have no named sexual alter-ego myself so perhaps this is my problem.

The premise of a book describing DNA analysis as a new method to find compatible mates becoming an international best seller was weak to me. How would this set-up operate, having National Geographic and Ancestry.com opening up new lines of business, instead of telling you that your relative lived in Bulgaria 15,000 years ago?

Love by Numbers
Love by Numbers - Sara Donovan I picked this book up because I liked the cover. I read the synopsis and thought I could relate to the character of April. This is a girl who has a heart problem but she is intelligent, so she tries to outsmart her heart. This was a really cute book, and it provided me with a little break from what I normally read. I really thought the characters were a bit unbelievable, but the premise was pretty original. The character of April seems “normal” except in the fact that her best friend is male, and straight, and good-looking. Despite the fact that they both seem attractive, they don’t have feeling for each other sexually. (Btw, that will never be me) April has a pretty quick wit but she is not following her instincts. Should of, could of, but didn’t act on it. That is totally me. She seemed cool to me, her wit is attractive, but she is a bit immature. Poor Girl! Conflicted April is dealing with something almost any girl can relate to, she has a crush that doesn’t seem to like her back. She daydreams about him and reads too much into everything he does. I have definitely been there. She decides she needs to get over him. April devises a plan to make herself fall in love with her bestie in an attempt to get over this crush. The fact that he agrees to this sham is hilarious. The result is funny and lighthearted, and a bit sad. This read made me think of Sophie Kinsella‘s books, but in a less predictable format.

This story takes place in Australia. I liked that about this book, since it seemed a bit foreign to me, in an English speaking country kind of way. The sex is PG in this book until you get towards the middle, then it becomes a bit more PG-17ish. No need to worry about getting swept away in passion in this book. Like most romcom fiction, there is too much turmoil for too much sex. The story switches from work scenes to home quickly. There are not any boring details about the mundane toiling on of daily life, just the heart of conversations and April’s confusion about how to proceed. It was almost diary like in its presentation. This book was a nice break from reality, complete with a super happy ending.

Darn near perfect!
10 Ways To Steal Your Lover - Dee Tenorio

10 Ways To Steal Your Lover (Love By Numbers) by Dee Tenorio was darn near perfect!  I absolutely loved this story from beginning to end.  I was so pleasantly surprised by the way that I laughed one minute and swooned the next.  Kane was so drool worthy that I think he's going to be my new book boyfriend for a while.

One of the things that struck me the most about this story is the fact that Delilah's ex, Craig, wasn't portrayed as that great of a man for most of the story, but when we finally got to meet him, I thought he was pretty amazing.  He wasn't meant for Delilah of course, but I really wanted to see him get an HEA too.

I'm happy to see that he will be getting one, I hope very soon in a book called 5 Secrets You Never Tell.  It was supposed to due out Winter 2013, so I'm hoping that it's going to be out in the next couple of months.

Also, I'd like to take the time out to show that this is a self-pubbed book that I would gladly put up against a traditionally pubbed book any day. So, for those of you who may be a little skeptical about self-pubbed ebooks, give this one a try.  I'm glad I did.
