SEASON'S READINGS Santa's On His Way anthology

Santa's on His WaySanta's On His Way anthology
By Lisa Jackson, Maisey Yates, Stacy Finz, Nicole Helm

What the Cowboy Wants for Christmas: Maisey YatesMeg, Charlie, and Noah all met as teens living in the same foster home. Meg fell instantly in love with Charlie for the last thirteen years she's waited for him, waited to be old enough, waited for him to get a good job, waited for him to come home from New York but this year she decided to stop waiting especially after finding him in bed with another woman. Noah has been a constant in Meg's life and has been in love with her for just as long and finally this year is the year he has his chance to finally show Meg how he feels.

Overall, it was a really nice and steamy read with lots of emotion. Meg looks back on her life and sees things differently than she use too and once she gets all that figured out everything falls into place.

Snowed In: Stacy Finz
My favorite of the book! I absolutely love Glory Junction. As soon as I read in the last Glory Junction book the animosity between Rachel and Boden I knew this was going to be great. Rachel Johnson left her big city corporate lawyer job to pursue her dream of being a baker. Now she owns a fantastic bakery and is looking to expand and she knows just the place. Boden Farmer turned the tired old bar into a gastro pub and he has plans to expand himself but in the meantime he's working the bar for parties which brings him in close proximity to Rachel. They are both prepping for the Christmas Day wedding when they get snowed in. With no distractions standing in their way they finally drop their walls low enough to let each other in but their is still the matter that they both want the same location for their business.

Overall, I loved this one. It's a quick and easy read with funny situations and loveable characters. Rachel has been burned once before so she's hesitant to let anyone else in it takes a grand gesture from Boden to show her he's worth the risk.

A Cowboy Wedding for Christmas: Nicole Helm
Lindsay Tyler dreamed of leaving her hometown behind and she did she left after high school and vowed never to come back. Cal Barton thought he was enough for Lindsay, that she would stay for him and when she left town she broke his heart. After six years of living life on her own Lindsay is homesick she's had her time to grow up and discover who she really is and that person belongs with her family. When her brother gets engaged and she comes home for the wedding she's staying home for good. Now she just has to make it through the wedding at Cal's Christmas Tree Ranch without falling back in love with him.

Overall, this was a nice emotional read about how sometimes to need to be apart and discover who you are away from the comforts of home to really appreciate the place where you belong.

A Baby For Christmas: Lisa Jackson
1995 Annie McFarlane is newly divorced when her husband's girlfriend ends up pregnant. After discovering she may never be able to conceive and then her husband leaving Annie was having a horrible year. 1996 Liam O'Shaughnessy needs to find the real killer of his boss before he gets convicted of murder his only lead is the woman who claimed she saw him there but she's disappeared but he's found her sister. Annie found solace in a small house in the middle of nowhere looking after an older couple ranch. Her plan was to stay a few more days before going to visit her brother and his family but late one night she discovers a baby on her front step with a note "For you Annie". The next night Liam shows up at her door claiming the baby is his and demands to know where her sister, the baby's mother, is but Annie has no idea and with a blizzard blowing in they are stuck together to work it out.

Overall, this one fell short. I love Lisa Jackson's older stuff and this feels like it's only half a book. It feels like there is so much missing from this story. I love the idea of it and the plot and if there is a full version of this story out there I want to read it but this as is is lacking.

Cover Reveal - Game On

Game On by Kelly Jamieson is coming soon on January 15th!

When the stakes are this high, it’s game on. . . .

“Kelly Jamieson is an auto-buy for me.”—New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips

Cam Brickley and his pro hockey teammates bet on everything: who can win five faceoffs in a row, who can do forty pushups in less than a minute, who can eat a ghost pepper without puking. But when his buddies bet him he can’t date the same woman—like, say, the hot blonde over at the bar—for two months and not fall in love, he’ll take that bet all day. Then he’ll laugh all the way to the hockey arena, where they’ll be washing his jock straps for the rest of the season, because Cam’s never giving up his bachelor lifestyle.

Olivia Lockwood, heiress to the Lockwood Industries fortune, is used to people using her for her money and family connections. When Cam Brickley hits on her in a club, Olivia’s first instinct is to brush him off. But he couldn’t be using her for her money, since he has more than enough of his own. Cam’s gorgeous and built, and it would be no hardship to go out with him . . . besides, he’d be the perfect spokesperson for the children’s charity she works with. Maybe it’s time for her to start using people.

Cam and Olivia are both in it for something. What they don’t know yet is that they’re playing for keeps.

ARC REVIEW Tempting Fate by Stacy Finz
Going Home - Stacy Finz
Finding Hope (A Nugget Romance) - Stacy Finz
Starting Over - Stacy Finz
Second Chances - Stacy Finz
Getting Lucky - Stacy Finz
Borrowing Trouble (A Nugget Romance Book 6) - Stacy Finz
Heating Up - Stacy Finz
Falling Hard - Stacy Finz
Riding High - Stacy Finz

Tempting Fate (Nugget #10)Nugget #10, I don't know if I ever said it in one of my reviews but I know I thought that I wouldn't care if Raylene ever got her own HEA, but I'm glad she did. She's the person everyone loves to hate and she finally meets someone who sees behind all the shine and snootiness and saw the head strong determined woman who regrets everything she did to the town she once loved; especially hurting the two people who loved her the most and now she's lost everything. She can't forgive herself because the town won't forgive her. I think this is one of those books that is best when you've read the other books in the series, but Raylene does have some flashbacks of her worst moments that fill in the blanks, or you can read Getting Lucky and Falling Hard those are the two with her story in them.

Gabe Moretti runs a business with Raylene's half brother, Logan. Logan asks Gabe to keep an eye on Raylene since she's not the most loved person in Nugget he wants to make sure she stay out of trouble and had back-up if she needs it. Gabe has heard the rumors about Raylene and it's not hard for him to believe it all but he finds it hard that the people from a the town that so far has been welcome and inviting can hate someone so much. Raylene has two things she wants to accomplish after Logan and Annie's wedding before she can finally move on from Nugget and never look back, find the gold her ancestor buried and sell off the last remaining plot of her family's land. After she finds her gold and sells off the land she can give the women's shelter she's been volunteering at the money they need to stay open and finally have enough start up money to start her own horse training ranch. But she has to find the gold first and Gabe insists on helping. Little things keep happening that raises suspicion that Raylene isn't the only ones out there looking for the gold.

Overall, this was a really good read. It was emotional not only between Raylene and Gabe but between her and the town she did some pretty low and horrible things and you can tell how much she regrets do them it really showed how much Raylene had changed since the beginning. The end was very exciting. I was surprised by how quickly the whole town flipped on their feelings for Raylene but hate isn't the opposite of love and they all loved her once they just needed something to love her for that was enough to forgive her of her past sins.

Book Tour & Giveaway with Excerpt! Dressing Mr. Dalton by Charlotte Byrd!

https://www.silverdaggertours.com/

Hello READERS! Join me today as I welcome Charlotte Byrd back for another visit! Today she is going to share the news of her newest contemporary romance, Dressing Mr. Dalton! Don’t forget to enter the Giveaway!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Dressing Mr. Dalton
by Charlotte Byrd
Genre: Contemporary Romance

“Women who color their own hair do not go out with movie stars!”

So, what am I doing going on a date with him?

I’m a wardrobe stylist with a resume full of fake job experience (when my resume was accurate no one wanted to hire me). I drive a crappy car and I have $37.58 in my bank account.

He is People’s Sexiest Man Alive who lives in a beach house (read: mansion) in Malibu.

We are all wrong for each other for a number of reasons. The main one being: I hate everything about him.

Finn Dalton is arrogant, cocky, and self-involved.

He thinks he’s God’s gift to women and the fact that he has bedded almost every available (and unavailable) woman in Hollywood supports that theory.

I hate him…so what am I doing here? Why do I keep saying yes?

Yes, to a date. Yes, to a kiss. Yes, to this.

And what happens when the one person who is all wrong is the only one who’s right?

**This is a standalone contemporary romance.

“Oh, that’s right.” I take a deep breath. “I was just wondering…why you ask me here?”

Finn puts the water down and takes a few steps closer to me.

For some unknown reason, I take a step back.
“What are you doing?” I ask.

He doesn’t say a word.

Instead, he takes another step closer to me.

Now, my back is all the way against the door of the pantry.

He’s standing as close to me as we stood when we were dancing.

I can feel him breathing with my body.

“I like you, Chloe,” he says very slowly and deliberately.

I bite my lower lip.

He takes his hand and runs his fingers along my neck.

I close my eyes.

I feel his finger along my lower lip.

As if it were possible, he pushes himself even closer to me.

When I open my eyes, I see him closing his.

His eyelashes are long and delicate, and his face is completely relaxed.

Ever so lightly, his lips touch mine.

Almost without my consent, my mouth starts to move along with his. His lips are soft and powerful, pushing against mine. At first, he’s gentle.

He takes his time.

His tongue slowly makes its way and finds mine, but then our dance gains strength.

He buries his hands in my hair, cradling my head, maneuvering as he sees fit.

It’s as if he takes full possession of me, and I let him.

I want him to.

It feels good not to be in control for once.

For a few moments, the rest of the world ceases to exist.

There’s only Finn and me, and as long as our lips remain locked, nothing else matters.

But then he pulls away.

He looks into my eyes, and I remember that there’s a whole other world out there.

Perhaps, what we have is fleeting and delicate and can disappear at any moment.

“I’ve wanted to do that for a long time,” Finn says.

“Really?”

“Yes. Ever since I first saw you.”

I smile. “I doubt that.”

“Oh, yeah?”

“The first time you saw me, I spilled orange juice all over you and you freaked out. Remember?”

His face flushes.

Wait, what is that?

“Are you blushing?” I ask. “I was just joking.”

“That was not my finest moment. I’m sorry.”

I shrug. “It’s okay. I shouldn’t have brought it up.”

For a moment, both of us seem at a loss as to what to do next.

This isn’t like in a movie.

People in movies start kissing, then fall into bed together.

But to get to bed, you have to walk through 3,000 square feet of house, and the transition is a little bit less fluid.

I look up at him.

His eyes are twinkling again, and he’s smiling his crooked smile at me.

“You’re a good kisser,” I say.

“So are you.”

I nod.

He leans closer to me again.

He was never more than a step away, but now we’re breathing the same air again.

This time, I make the move.

I want to shut the whole world out again.

I reach up to him and run my fingers over his smooth lips.

His breathing speeds up, catching me off guard.

I thought he’d be such a natural at this (getting girls into bed), but he looks nervous. Is that really him or is it just my imagination?

I run my fingers over his lips from one side to another.

I pull his lower lip down, feeling the soft, moist flesh on the inside.

I look up at him.

His eyes meet mine and we each dare each other to look away first.

I find a new source of courage, coming like a secret spring from somewhere deep inside of me.

Unlike our first kiss, the passion of this moment is like a smoldering coal, glowing in the aftermath of a fire.

Hot, but quiet.

I run my fingers over the outline of his face.

I push back the loose strands of hair that keep falling into his eyes.

His hair is soft and welcoming to my touch.

I linger around his ear and slowly make my way to his earlobe.

Then it hits me.

Touch is an amazing sense.

The sensation is completely different, depending on how hard I touch. Pressing too hard makes me feel the underlying strength of the thing that I’m pressing against, but touching something slowly and deliberately, produces a whole new sensation.

The kind that sends goose bumps up my arms.

I must’ve known this all along, but this is the first time I’m consciously experiencing it.

I run my fingers along his neck.

I’m sure that he shaved not long ago, but a few stubborn hairs are already making a resurgence.

“You feel nice,” I say.

He opens his eyes and meets mine.

“I can’t stand your teasing anymore,” he says and presses his lips onto mine again.

I’m swept away by his passion.

I kiss him back, burying my hands in his hair.

I feel his fingers running up and down my back.

He squeezes my shoulders over and over again.

He pushes me against the pantry door again, and it makes a noise as our bodies slam into it over and over.

My knees start to buckle.

I feel myself going limp and slowly slide down to the floor.

He follows me.

Suddenly, we’re both on our knees.

A moment later, I’m lying on the floor and he’s on top of me.

We’re moving as one.

We’re dancing to the same silent rhythm.

Then, something feels off.

I’m not sure where it comes from, but suddenly, I feel queasy. Perhaps, it’s from the surge of adrenaline that rushes through my body.

“Um, Finn,” I say, pushing him away from me.

He sits up.

“I feel sick,” I manage to say.

And then I throw up.

All over his tile floor.
