"Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe" by Melissa de la Cruz

My Thoughts...

If you are looking for a 'feel good' quick read for the holiday you may like this one by this author focusing on Darcy Fitzwilliam and Luke Bennet.  We find that a lots will happen as Darcy returns home for the holiday after her mother has had a heart attack.  Darcy was quite a successful woman however she also had a life that was full of insecurities.  I enjoyed how this author was able to deliver a modernized retelling of 'Pride and Prejudice' and let's not leave out the Mistletoe where there will be a 'complete flip of characters.'  What will happen when one of the richest women who doesn't have time for nothing but work...comes home after been gone for eight years, having to deal with her strained relationship with her father, mother's illness and having to attend her parents's yearly Christmas party? Will a lots of the events that take place in this story set off some events from the past that seem to collide with Darcy's future? What will happen when Darcy meets up with Luke Bennet...the carpenter?  What happens when Darcy begins to think that maybe living the simple life would be better than the one she now has?  Now to get all of these questions answered and so much more you will have to pick up this novel [Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe] and understand that its a spin off/flip of the original 'Pride and Prejudice,' a Jane Austen Classic however, this will be a quite a different story that is full of  twist and turns, 'lightheartedness, self discovery and second chances.'

"Mistletoe on Main Street" by Olivia Miles

Book Description...

"Sleigh bells, snow, and second chances . . .

Briar Creek's quaint shop windows, cozy homes nestled in snow, and neighborly residents are what Christmas dreams are made of--for everyone except Grace Madison. She left her hometown years ago to pursue a writing career. But when her father's death leaves his bookstore empty, Grace must return to face why she fled Vermont in the first place: Luke Hastings, who still heats her up like a shot of smoky whiskey on a cold winter's night.

Grace is back, and Luke is worried. How much has she changed as a bestselling author in the big city? What memories will she stir up? And was the choice he made five years ago the biggest mistake of his life?

Now, with their past, present, and future rocking around the Christmas tree, it's time for Grace and Luke to face the music . . . and the mistletoe."

What I liked from this novel.....

This author really gives the reader quite a interesting place in 'Briar Creek' and definitely a good Christmas read that will keep your attention from start to the finish. The two main characters Grace and Luke will keep you entertained as they find their way through his love story. It seems like Grace after being gone five years is trying to make up her mind will she stay in Briar Creek after this Christmas holiday with her family or return to NY? Did she even have anyone waiting for her back in New York after she had dropped Derek? Then there is her father's book store that is not opened any more. What had happened after her father's death to the book store and why wasn't see told about it being closed. I found this love story was about Grace and Luke. What had happened to cause her to want to leave Briar Creek five years ago in the first place and what happened when she came back (seeing only Luke)...leaves again...then back for her father's funeral... leaves.....now back again for this Christmas holiday? In all of Grace's coming and going would she stay this time and run the book store that seems to have closed and just what all did Luke Hastings have to do in all of this? Between these two there will be a lots of drama going on. I don't want to leave out Grace's sister Jane who also seemed to have quite a bit of drama going on in her life and their mother Kathleen. I don't want to spoil it by telling too much of the story. I know I have presented a lots of questions and all of the answers will be answered in this well written novel: "Mistletoe on Main Street." I found this author really worked it with such a beautiful description of the snow during Christmas holiday season of Briar Creek really making me what to find this beautiful place with such unique characters which I found were richly developed that seemed to come alive on the pages presented as Ray, Mark, Sophie, Anna and Rosemary Hastings to name a few. Be prepared for a long read because this author leaves nothing out even a little hot sex scene.

What I also liked about this novel....

I liked how this author was able to give us a story that showed a lots of emotions along with the drama of a real love story showing the past and the present of how it is from one reaction can bring on another reaction. In the end will it be a good decision for all involved at this point in their life's? I thought this was a very interesting read and I really enjoyed how this author closes the story.

"Mistletoe Magic" by Melissa McClone was a very short sweet Christmas story that once you start will be hard to put down until the end. We find Caitlin is house sitting for the Patterson family during the Christmastime. While she is there Caitlin finds a hurt kitten and takes it to the local vet where she find a 'old college flame' Noah who is now the veterinarian. Now, what will come of this? As the story moves on we will see that there may be feelings again between these two. Will there be a second chance between Caitlin and Noah and how does this 'Mistletoe Magic' plan come into this read? This is where I say you much pick up the wonderful read to find out. You will find that "Mistletoe Magic" is one cute short read that will give you a happy ending that will make you feel the Christmas spirit and magic. Would I recommend? Yes!

Review:

"Kissing Under The Mistletoe" by Bella Andre was another one of this author's series that was simply 'off the chart' one amazing good read. You will find that once you start reading this novel it will be hard to put down until the very end. This series was about the parents Mary and Jack Sullivan's falling in love. It is a beautiful written story where you may even shed some tears...Why was this?...Well, I will just say you must read this wonderful story to find out. We find out so much more about this couple...there dreams and their beautiful family. I loved how this author was able to bring out so much about Mary with the Christmas decorations for the family tree and those ornaments that were hand made by the children. However, when Mary talks about the first ornament that was given to her by Jack. ..we are now getting Jack and Mary's story. Wow! This was really presented so well by this author. This was one beautiful story of Jack and Mary that were simply 'perfect' for each other. This storyline was of one amazing family how they began was simply wonderful. Sometimes it is hard to read a novel when you know what has happened but this author did a good job with being able to "walk by in time with Mary as she remembered meeting Jack and falling in love with him."

"Kissing Under The Mistletoe" was beautiful, loving and oh so touching of this wonderful Sullivan Family came to be and if you would like a excellent read....I would definitely recommend this one to you.
