My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
Echo Across Time (The Echo Saga, #1) - Skye Genaro

***Received the ebook from the author for an honest review, but I bought it because I knew I had to have it especially for under a buck :)

The cover is really beautiful and magical looking :)  Really draws my attention to it :)

Skye is awesome at painting this picture that makes everything seem possible, and you feel like you are right there.  The creativity and story line in this book amazes me.  I wish I had even a tiny bit of the creativity authors have to come up with such awesome stories.  I think that this series is going to get better and better.  I even went and bought the short stories that I haven’t read yet to go with the copy I bought of this one :)  I eventually hope to get this book in paperback, so I can share with my awesome students :)

Okay Echo reminds me of a typical high school student trying to figure out who she is while also trying to fit in with her peers.  And she doesn’t have the confidence in herself and her abilities like a true high school student.  Trying to inspire confidence in my students is always one of the hardest things to accomplish, and it always breaks my heart when my kiddos don’t believe in themselves.

I’m still not sure what to think of Connor, and I really didn’t want the book to end where it did.  I want to know what happens.  It will be interesting to see if my imagination is taking me where the story is actually going :)

I recommend this story to all the dreamers out there especially if you believe in mind power.  Well, I’m off to read a new adventure :)

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
Avian (The Dragonrider Chronicles #2) - Nicole Conway

***Received the book as part of the book tour for an honest review

The cover is okay, but I don’t know that it would attract me to pick it up if I spied it in a bookstore.  It would be a mistake to not pick it up, but I would have preferred a dragon on the cover again :)

Of course I loved this book, my favorite characters were off adventuring again :)  I didn’t read the blurb before I started reading, so I had lots of surprises while I was reading.  I never like to give away what happens in a story, so I won’t ;)  But I will say that I went through many emotions while reading and things happened causing me to yell Nooooo inside my own head while reading.  I wonder what will happen next to Jae and his friends, and what we will learn about who Jae is.

Nicole’s writing style is wonderful to imagine everything happening and getting a great picture in your head.  I can’t wait to read more of this series and see what else Nicole thinks up in the future :)

I highly recommend this series to fans of Eragon and Lord of the Rings because those movies jump to mind a lot when I’m reading this series.  I want to add this book to my classroom to share with my high school students as well, but it will be a while before I can do that.

Hmmm what Month9Book to read next ;)

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden - Eva Gordon

***Received the ebook for an honest review

The cover is awesome and very intriguing for those of us who love weres :)

This is an adult book with some very steamy adult scenes and even a little bondage.  It is about 130 pages.

Okay the book was a great read, but I’m reserving judgment on this pet thing.  Right now I’m on the fence, and I have some secret wishes that I hope happen in the next book or at some point in the series because I’m assuming this is a series (not sure though), but we will see what actually happens :)  I hope when the series continues that both Dominic and Mia are part of it :)

Mia has strength of character that I adore.  I love strong women who stick to their morals and won’t let anyone corrupt those morals.  Dominic what to say, he is Alpha male through and through.  I really don’t want Mia to just be his pet, but this is just my feelings and opinion :)

The world Eva created is definitely a unique shifter world.  This is the first book I’ve read by Eva, and I’m not sure why I haven’t read her before because I think I own a few of her books.  I think it is just life getting in the way.  I’m definitely going to read more of her work, and really hope this is a series because I need more :)  Thank you for sharing your book with me Eva :)

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
Bound by Danger - Terry Spear

***Received a free code from the author to get an audiobook for an honest review

The cover is steamy and definitely draws the eye.

Okay, I think there are two aspects to look at for this review:  the book and the audio.

I have been in a classroom where an audiobook was being played, but this is the first time I listened to a whole audiobook.  For me, I liked that I could hear my book while I drove to and from work, so I was multi-tasking which is a great thing for me.  I don’t know if I love the person reading the book though.  I think I am going to have to listen to a few more audiobooks before I figure out what I really think because one isn’t enough to figure it out.  I also have to start sticking to YA appropriate audiobooks in the car because my 13 year old son will also be in the car starting tomorrow.  Please remember with audiobooks that you need to think about who else can hear your book before you start listening to it.

As usual, Terry Spear has another action packed story.  Her descriptions are always awesome, so you can imagine everything happening as you go through the story.  This story was so much better than I’d imagined which was idiotic of me because I should have known with Terry’s name on it that it would be awesome.  But I was leery because it wasn’t one of my shifter books, they are my favorite.  :)

Deidre is a fantastic character.  I love how she handles herself and everything life throws her way including her visions.  I really liked Dave as a character.  Deidre’s brother and Dave’s co-workers added plenty of humor in the midst of all the action.

I will always reador listen to books by Terry Spear but especially her shifter books because they are favorites.  I do have some of her YA audiobooks and will start listening to one tomorrow :)

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
Fractured (Newtimber, #1) - Karen E. Hoover

***Received the ebook as part of the tour for an honest review

The cover is beautiful and Sianna definitely is looking like a warrior.  The green world and light just completes everything :)  Only thing off is her skin color, but it would probably look cartoony if they tried to fix it.

This is my first time reading Karen’s work, and I really enjoyed it.  This world she created is pretty cool.  I love how she mixed reality and fantasy together in this unique world she has created.  I definitely see potential in this series for greatness. A couple of the parts were a little slow for me, but for me this happens when a new world is being created and understandable.

There is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at least for me concerning Sianna.  I laughed, cried, and cheered her on.  Her family and Matt are an amazing support system as well as the rest of her newly acquired family.  I can’t wait to see what happens next in this exciting new world especially with the changes I saw coming.

I recommend this to YA readers who believe in the Fae because you will enjoy this world.  I think I need to get this book in paperback to share with my students :)
