A Sweet and Sassy Country Music Story that's sure to please...
You'd Be Mine: A Novel - Erin Hahn

๏ ๏ ๏  Book Blurb ๏ ๏ ๏

Annie Mathers is America’s sweetheart and heir to a country music legacy full of all the things her Gran warned her about. Superstar Clay Coolidge is most definitely going to end up one of those things.

But unfortunately for Clay, if he can’t convince Annie to join his summer tour, his music label is going to drop him. That’s what happens when your bad boy image turns into bad boy reality. Annie has been avoiding the spotlight after her parents’ tragic death, except on her skyrocketing YouTube channel. Clay’s label wants to land Annie, and Clay has to make it happen.

Swayed by Clay’s undeniable charm and good looks, Annie and her band agree to join the tour. From the start fans want them to be more than just tour mates, and Annie and Clay can’t help but wonder if the fans are right. But if there’s one part of fame Annie wants nothing to do with, it’s a high-profile relationship. She had a front row seat to her parents’ volatile marriage and isn’t interested in repeating history. If only she could convince her heart that Clay, with his painful past and head over heels inducing tenor, isn’t worth the risk.

๏ ๏ ๏  My Review ๏ ๏ ๏

I really thought this was going to come off as overly heavy with the Young of Young Adult, but it surprised me, it deals with some heavy issues and does it surprisingly well.  With a feel that reminds me of Open Road Summer, this story did not disappoint and I think I liked this even more than that book.  The romance has all the feels, even for YA...and I loved every one of the characters so much.  I was also blown away by the songwriting, especially "you'd be mine" and how it embodies the whole story. I would love to hear it put to music.  Since I'm from Michigan, I loved that Annie and even the Author is too.  There was even a shout-out to Grand Rapids, which I live only a little north of.

Atheists Who Kneel and Pray - Tarryn Fisher

~BOOK BLURB~

Atheists Who Kneel and Pray

Tarryn Fisher

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yara Phillips is a wandering muse.
She dates men who need her but always moves on to something new, never staying in one place for very long.
David Lisey is in need of a muse.
A talented musician lacking lyrical inspiration. When he first sees her, he knows he's found what he's been looking for.
Yara believes she can give David exactly what he needs to reach his full potential:
A broken heart.
David’s religion is love.
Yara’s religion is heartache.
Neither is willing to surrender, but religion always requires sacrifice.
~MY QUICKIE REVIEW~
I really like Tarryn Fisher, l like how she makes her stories unlike any others out there.  Atheists Who Kneel and Pray is a story about a musician and his muse…a story about breaking hearts and finding a way to mend them…an unflinching look into jealousy and commitment issues…and, how just one life-changing event can shape us into who we are…until we break free.  Yara has issues, and I found her difficult to like as a character, yet she ultimately found her way under my skin and I needed to see her broken heart mended...
1.5 Out Of 5 "eye-rolling" STARS
Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin - Mariana Zapata
~BOOK BLURB~
Rhythm, Chord and Malykhin
Mariana Zapata
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Twenty-six-year-old Gaby Barreto might be a lot of things (loyal, sarcastic, one of the guys and a pain in the butt depending on which family member you ask), but dumb isn’t one of them. When her twin brother invites her to go on tour as his band’s merch girl, she isn’t exactly screaming at the top of her lungs with joy.

With no job opportunities pounding on her door, an ex-boyfriend she would still like to castrate, and no end in sight to moving out of her parents’ house in Dallas… it would be dumb to say no to the chance of a lifetime. Two bands, three continents, one tour. Spending the next ninety-plus days with three beloved idiots and eight complete strangers shouldn’t be a big deal, right?

If only the singer of the headlining band didn’t have tattoos... a great personality… a fantastic body… and if he wasn’t so funny….

Let’s be real: Gaby never had a chance against Sacha Malykhin.

~MY QUICKIE REVIEW~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let's be real:  My review in bullet points…
  • The heroine's inner dialogue was annoying AF.
  • So, inevitably I could not stand her.
  • This story is about being on tour with rock stars and they're the most prudish rock stars I've ever read about.
  • That and they act like 5-year-olds most of the time. (There's a lot of references to farting and such.)
  • Apparently, this is supposed to be funny, but I found the humor to be eye-rollingly dumb.
  • The Hero was the least annoying of all the characters, but he was so bland.
  • I read a review that stated that this should not be your first book by this Author, I guess I should've heeded that.  So, if anyone out there can tell me that Kulti (because I already own it on audio) is better than this…please do so.
A super-cute YA romance/coming of age story.  Effortlessly readable, with characters that felt real and were likable.  A realistic look at a celebrities life from their side of the camera.  Seriously, It would suck to read about your supposed life on the front of a magazine cover at the grocery store…the price of fame, I guess… While the ending had a bit too much drama, especially when the book had stayed away from overdone drama most of the way through, I found this a refreshing read, and just what I needed.
Will I read more from this Author?  Yeah, I may do so soon, actually.
REVIEW
This is Peyton's story and oh I just fell inlove.
Peyton falls head over heels for Raji when they met at a party given by friends. Raji is still an intern, and Peyton is of course in Killer Valentine so it's not easy but Peyton would move the world for her. She doesn't want to ruin her future but then the unthinkable happens. What will Raji do? Can Peyton win her hand and heart?
Totally loved this hot, sexy, holiday story.
