Blood of Eden
Blood of Eden - Tami Dane The rear cover blurb for Blood of Eden sounds promising; genius Sloan Skye gets an intern job with the new paranormal unit of the FBI. Unfortunately the reality of this book is a confusing mess. Working to catch a killer, Sloan's role as an intern places her in highly improbable situations; acting as bait for the killer, going off alone to investigate. Not only is Sloan kind of whiny and annoying, she has a distracting romance with one of the FBI agents. The romance fails to ring true, he's an older man and an agent, she's supposedly much younger and an intern.
I confess I had to stop reading at the half way point. The story just got too bizzarre, and Sloan really failed to engage me as a heroine I gave the slightest damn about. I skipped to the final chapter hoping that it might provide me with enough incentive to go back to where I stopped and try to read the book again. Let's just say the final chapter is such a convoluted mess that I'm surprised any editor let it go to print. What a terrible book. Is there a rating less than one star? If so I give this a point 5 of a star. If you decide to buy this book I suggest you stand in the bookshop and read the first three chapters. If you decide to purchase it than do so at your own risk.

Review of "Blood of Eden (Sloane Skye #1)" by Tami Dane
Blood of Eden - Tami Dane

★★½☆☆ = Liked parts; parts only okay but would read more by author.

 Short version:

Love triangle, dye-away heroine that had promise in the sample but became too stupid to live (so clueless in spite of all the sledgehammer clues author beat her over the head with you stopped caring what happened). The extra nail in the coffin with the love triangle was that

if only she had not believed some high school mean girl decade ago they would still have stayed together

(spoiler show)

with first love who conveniently as an adult is competing with her for FBI intern spot in a town so small high school shit still going on and everyone knows your business yet somehow is the chosen site for a big new FBI department.

Longer version:

The Real Werewives of Vampire County - Alexandra Ivy,Angie Fox,Tawny Taylor,Jess Haines,Tami Dane

I patiently waited on this one to appear somewhere cheap - the only story I was sort of interested in was the entry to the Guardians of Eternity which I unenthusiastically follow. Well…

Ok, the Guardians of Eternity short was…pretty much what I'd expect I guess.

The second story was kinda cute.

The third was… well, figuring out what was going on was like pulling teeth. I found myself wondering why the h was moving in with this "almost-fiance" when she appeared to know so little about him. Online dating apparently. In any case, the absence of any clue as to what was going on was frankly irritating.

The final story was just…dumb.

So… at least it's over.

The Real Werewives of Vampire County - Alexandra Ivy,Angie Fox,Tawny Taylor,Jess Haines,Tami Dane Ivy- I haven't read her Guardian's of Eternity series and after this, I'm not inclined to

Fox- Laugh out loud funny at times, Heather has an interesting talent.

Dane- Too shallow. I didn't feel the connection between Jon and Christine

Haines- Unremarkable

The best story for Angie Fox's, the others were unremarkable for me.
