Taxes and TARDIS by N.R. Walker Review
Taxes and Tardis - N.R. Walker

Brent is a jock, Logan a geek, these men are a world apart. But if opposites attract, maybe it’s the differences between them that make it worth the fight.

Brent Kelly is a laid-back tradesman whose only concerns are drinks with friends and which man to bed next. In need of a new accountant to sort out his nightmarish shoebox of tax receipts, he’s referred to Logan Willis.

He doesn’t expect to be intrigued by the science fiction-loving, geeky guy with dark-rimmed glasses and a TARDIS-blue shirt. So his fascination with the soft-spoken Englishman surprises him, and their mutual attraction is completely unexpected. He most certainly never expects to fall in love.

One a jock and the other a geek, both men know the differences between them are vast and could cause problems. But in this opposites-attract erotic drama, maybe it’s the differences between them that make staying together worth the fight.

Review

Taxes and Tardis is such a lovely sigh of a sexy romance.

It could have been more complex with some of the character work but what is here is so good. It would have been a 5 star read if we had both points of view.

I love a geek hero and I love it when someone gets gobsmacked.

Both heroes are kind and so into each other.

This is a delight.

You may have heard, but the book subscription service Oyster is getting ready to shut down. (On the plus side, they were pretty much acqui-hired by Google, rather than simply going out of business). The news has prompted me to spend more time on Scribd, lest it should be the next to fall, and I've added a bunch of new and interesting things to my library this week. Here are just a few:

The Steampunk Trilogy by Paul di Filipo

Maplecroft (audio) by Cherie Priest

Tardis Eruditorum (volumes 1-6) by Philip Sandifer

Taxes and TARDIS
Taxes and Tardis - N.R. Walker

3.5 stars

A short little novella about Brent, the hot laid-back client, and Logan, the insecure geeky accountant.

It was hot, it way funny, it was sweet and I liked it. It might almost be considered a classic in M/M novellas; it sure is THE poster story for 'opposites attract'.

It might feel a little too smooth and fast at one point, but too artificially angsty and problematic later, but that's what you get. It's a little drama in a longer short story, so it's fine. And very well written, as you can expect from NR Walker.

All in all a nice extra on the side when you're stuck on a book hangover or just need something light and fast.

Taxes and TARDIS
Taxes and TARDIS - N.R. Walker Real rating 3.5 stars
Cute, fluffy and really sweet short story (or novella, I never got how one differentiates between them). It has the special N.R. Walker feel. The "misunderstanding" at the end was a bit... but hey, one needs a big make up scene and make up sex right?
Just want I was in the mood for!
