The Burning Bridge
The Burning Bridge - John Flanagan A fun story with annoying writing...

It's a good thing I'm a sucker for a fun story, because this would be a very unhappy review if the story were as juvenile as the writing in this book. A lot of people love these books, so maybe my standards are too high. And I get that it's written for 10-year-olds. But still. Sorry.

I'd decided I didn't need to continue with the series, but then I ran right smack into my nemesis...a big fat cliffhanger. So I'm now going on to the third. Maybe the writing gets better?

The Burning Bridge
The Burning Bridge (Ranger's Apprentice, #2) - John Flanagan

This is the second book in the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan, and takes place some months after The Ruins of Gorlan.

I enjoyed this book, the start is a bit slower than in the first book, but after they meet Evanlyn, the story really starts. Again there's a fight against big bad evil Morgarath and his Wargals to save Araluen You would say this is thrilling enough, but at the end there is just this enormous cliffhanger! Really, I think this is one of the biggest cliffhangers I've ever seen. It makes you just have to start reading the third book immediately, because you'll have to know how the story continues! (Smart move of John Flanagan, even though I don't like massive cliffhangers between books). I really liked to see Gilan in this book. He's my favourite character so far!

Note: I read a Dutch translation of this book

The Burning Bridge - John Flanagan Diciamo 3 e mezzo come valutazione. Ci sono state alcune scelte forse un po' troppo buoniste, ma alla fine l'autore è riuscito a lasciare aperta la porta per un nuovi libri senza troppe forzature.Certi momenti però molto belli.

The Burning Bridge - John Flanagan Again, a good page-turner, hack-and-slash fantasy. Not too complicated. Had a few twists that you could see coming miles away, but it's hard to hold that against it. Couldn't put it down. read it in a day.
