ʙᴏᴏᴋ ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ - ᴛʜᴇ ғᴀᴜʟᴛ ɪɴ ᴏᴜʀ sᴛᴀʀs
The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

"the fault in our stars" is a book written by John Green in 2012, eventually releasing as a film in 2014. main characters include, Shailene Woodley, acting as Hazel Grace Lancaster,

Ansel Elgort, acting as Augustus Waters. this story was narrated by Hazel Grace Lancaster, a 16 year old girl, who suffered from cancer. she was forced to attend a support group where she met lots of new people, especially Augustus Waters, she eventually fell in love with Augustus Waters. they agreed to read each other's favorite novels, "An Imperial Affection" from Hazel Grace, and "The Price of Dawn" from Augustus Waters. after a few weeks, Augustus Waters confessed that his cancer had returned and they affirmed their love and support for each other. upon returning from Indianapolis, Augustus Waters' health deteriorated and he landed in the ICU for a few days. fearing his death, he invites Hazel Grace and Issac, a boy who had eye cancer, who they met at the support group, to his pre-funeral, where they gave their eulogies to him. unfortunately, Augustus Waters died soon after, which left Hazel Grace heartbroken. eventually, she learns that Augustus Waters was writing a sequel to "An Imperial Affection". Hazel Grace read his words, "getting hurt in this world is inevitable, but we do get to choose whom we allow to hurt us, i am happy with my choice, and i hope you're happy with your choice". the story ends with Hazel Grace stating that she is happy with her choice

my favorite character is Hazel Grace Lancaster because she was brave with her choices and dared to seek a relationship despite being different from others. this explains that she had the power to reject the negative point of herself and shows that she is very persistent with her choices, despite people thinking of her being an outcast.

this book relates to people with illnesses, they fought their lives for the happiness, laughter, and most importantly love. it inspires people to be brave with choices and embrace the lives they were given without being ashamed of who they are, what they have and what they mean to others. the society thinks that whoever is different is really different from themselves, think again, was it their choice to be that way? they're just different from us physically , but that doesn't mean they're different from the bottom of their hearts.

i'll end off with a quote from John Green,

"just remember that sometimes, the way you think of a person isn't the way they actually are."

Even though your going through the roughest time of your life, you can still find love!!
The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

In the beginning of The Fault in Our Stars, Hazel Grace was diagnosed with cancer as a little kid, her lungs got filled up with water but she got through it because the antibiotics worked.  Her mother thought she was depressed because she barely ate, she read the same book over and over again, and she barely went out so the doctor recommended a support group. When she attended the support group she met this boy, Augustus Waters, they talked after the support group meeting and he invited her for a movie. Hazel was impressed with all Augustus's trophies but deep down inside of Augustus he hated basketball. After a few weeks of them hanging out Augustus says he has a crush on hazel. While she was sleep, she awakened because she had liquids in her lungs again and that prevented oxygen to get into her, she was also planning to go to Amsterdam but that happened. Hazel told Augustus that they cant take what they are any further because she's going to explode on day and she's scared she's going to break his heart, so she just wants to stay as friends but Augustus doesn't. Her mother surprises her by telling her that they're going to Amsterdam with Augustus. While hazel was at the airport, this little girl asks her whats that in her nose and Hazel says that she gets oxygen from the tube and she lets the little girl put it on. When their in Amsterdam they finally get to meet their favorite author they wanted answers from but they realize he's a alcoholic and he's rude to them both. After they're meeting with the author, his wife comes outside and says sorry to Hazel and Augustus, she takes them to the Anne Frank house and when they finally made it up all those stairs Hazel and Augustus kiss FINALLY! Later that night, him and her goes to his place and ends up having sex, Hazel took his virginity. The next morning, he told her his cancer is back and they're both sad and crying. When they get back home Augustus friend is going to throw eggs at his ex, Monica's, house with Augustus and Hazel. That night, Augustus calls Hazel in the middle of the night saying he's at a gas station and she rushes over there, when she gets there she see's that his stomach is infected so she calls a ambulance. The next day, Augustus is out the hospital and later that night he wants Hazel to go to the church, but before she leaves she has a argument with her parents about when she's dies. When Hazel arrives to the church Augustus wants a pre-funeral for he can be there himself. Augustus died 8 days later in the ICU, the crying was unbearable for Hazel. At his funeral the rude author gave a letter to Hazel, Augustus wrote it before he died. Hazel just lays on the grass and reads the letter, when she's finished she says okay because that his and her forever.

This text is connected to me because I love reading love stories but it also makes me sad. This is text to text because the author of the book had to be going through something to get the idea to write this book. This is text to world because a lot of people have cancer and are dying and its sad seeing people die especially if y'all are really close.

YES, I would recommend this book to anyone that love romance and sad books. This book started out as friends, then romance, then sadness. Also I would rate this book a 10 because I just really love this book, it made me cry that's how sad it was at the ending.

Writing about love

...is so hard. Right?

I read a quote once that went something like this : "Writing about Love is like dancing about architecture." I think that's true. How does one write about love? Or to be more exact, how does one write about love well? The emotions are so varied, complex, and intense.

Which brings me to John Green. I am reading 'Fault in Our Stars,' and I read this: "I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”

Thank you John Green. Perfectly said. Unlike lust, love comes forth slowly, and you may not be aware of it. Then it hits you like a wave.

Movie Vs Book - Fault In Our Stars

So I'm about 30 mins into the movie and really enjoying it so far. The book was brilliant, no doubt, but I had fears the movie wouldn't live up to my high expectations. So far it's not letting me down. (yay)

Anyways the whole point of this post is you know when your watching a movie and something happens and you swear a detail is off and it really bugs you. Especially because your not sure if your right or wrong because it's been so long since you've read the book?
Well I'm having that moment but with something a bit bigger than a minor detail..... I was totally under the impression that Augustus was well... of colour. (Which personally I would totally dig) Now I know this was a giant issue with Hunger Games and maybe that was reflected while I was reading The Fault In Our Stars? It has been quite a few years.... I don't know. :/

Did anyone else feel the same in relation to this book? or have a similar thing happen to them?
