Schiefgelacht habe ich mich nicht gerade.

Manches war sicher witzig, aber die Hauptperson ist einfach so unsymphatisch...

After I had just finished Hummeldumm by Tommy Jaud I was in the mood to listen to another book by the author: Millionär (=millionaire). Unfortunately this book was not as good as the first one. It had the same kind of humor as Hummeldumm but the story was not as thought through and a little bit pointless. Hummeldumm was so funny because of its weird characters but in Millionär everyone just seems flat. I had a good laugh or two but all in all I was not very invested in the story. This time the book was not read by Tommy Jaud himself and while Christoph Maria Herbst does a good job it is not outstanding. It is okay. The whole book is just okay.

Okay, so here is a little background story to this book: A few years back when this book was popular in Germany I was standing at the airport in Munich waiting for my flight to Namibia, Africa. Now you need to know that Hummeldumm is about a couple that is doing a group tour in Namibia. The whole experience is written down in a very funny way. I, on the other hand, was going to stay in Namibia for 8 weeks and only at the very end I planned a group tour just like that. So while I was waiting for the boarding to start I stood next to this book store and Hummeldumm was on display. I picked it up and started reading. Two chapters in I was laughing out loud and was scared to pieces. I decided to not read this book until I was back from Namibia and had survived my group tour.

 

All these years I wanted to read this book but never got to it. Now I finally listened to the audiobook. This book was hilarious at times. I was always smiling or even laughing while listening to the audiobook. I could enjoy it even more since I had been to Namibia and could relate to many things and knew what the places looked like.

 

There was one part of the story that brought my enjoyment down a little bit. The main character has a problem during the trip that he needs to solve and this problem had me nervous the whole time. I wanted it to be solved and out of the way so that I could enjoy everything else that was going on, but that did not happen. Without that this book would have been a 4.5 stars.

 

Especially since Tommy Jaud reads this book himself and he is doing an amazing job! The dialects are on point and so funny! He should read more books. I would certainly enjoy listening to him.

Also...ja...wo fange ich an. Ich hab schon Hummeldumm von dem Autor gelesen und fand das Buch nervig , aber dachte geb den Autor noch eine Chance...tut mir Leid ...es ist auch wieder nervig.
Ich habe mich echt bis zur 174 Seite geschleppt und ich weiß wären nur noch ein paar Seiten gewesen dann wäre das Buch zu ende gewesen, aber hab dann doch bessere Bücher auf dem SuB.
Gut nun zum Buch: Es geht um Pitschi Greulich der eigentlich alles hat, ein Job, eine Freundin und Freunde, nur das Doofe das die alle Heiraten wollen und als seine Freundin auch immer mehr auf dem Pfad kommt und von Kindern anfängt geht es los.
Das will Pitschi alles nicht , er will eigentlich nichts an seinem Leben ändern.
Da kommt ja fast der Jährliche Urlaub mit Freundin und Freunden recht, auf eine Linke Tour fahren die dann auf Malle (glaub das war da) und er fliegt ein paar Stunden später woanders hin um sein Leben neu aufzubauen.
Nur Schitte wenn man dann in einen Land ankommt wo nur Spanisch gesprochen wird oder ?

Und das war für mich der Genickbruch, wer nicht Spanisch kann ist aufgeschmissen, immer wieder kommen da Zeilenlange Redewendungen auf Spanisch die man sich entweder zusammen reimen muß oder holt den Übersetzter.
Ich fand das Buch auch nicht lustig und nein gehe nicht zum lachen in den Keller, aber denke das Buch kann einfach nicht Punkten bei mir .
Und außerdem finde Ich Pitschi nervig !!!! Mit seiner Meinung und wie er da selbstverständlich mit Lügen umgeht.
Wie das Buch endet weiß ich nicht und interessiert mich auch nicht da es mich leider nicht vom Hocker gehauen hat :(
Erst dachte Ich vielleicht verstehe ich da einige Sachen aus der Frauensichtweise nicht, das gibt es ja. War mehr als Erleichtert das es auch Männer mit meiner Meinung gibt, Danke ! ;)

Dieses Hörbuch ist es wert, gehört zu werden, ich finde die Story witzig, aber das, was Christoph Maria Herbst beim Lesen draus macht, ist schlichtweg klasse und verdient die volle Punktzahl. Hut ab, Herr Herbst! So machen Hörbücher richtig Spaß.
