Book Review ~ One Night Only: An Erotic Romance Anthology
One Night Only... An Erotic Romance Anthology - Caridad Pineiro,Stephanie Julian,Raven Morris,Willow James

JUST ONE NIGHT - I really enjoyed this story and it was a great start to this anthology.  For an erotic romance, it was really sweet and cute. I know….how can an erotic romance be sweet and cute, you ask?  Well, it was and it totally worked for this story!  I have always been a fan of Caridad Pineiro and this story did not disappoint!

An Indecent Affair Part I - Whew!! This story was INTENSE and so is the sex!  Ms. Julian definitely knows how to reel the reader in with a gritty, raw story.  An Indecent Affair is Part 1 of a continuing story and I am most definitely going to check out the rest of this insanely HOT story!

Tyed - Things really heat up quickly in this hot and sensual story.  This one will leave you breathless and begging for more!

Pumped - Pumped was by far my favorite story of this anthology and wrapped up the book perfectly.  I had so many good feelings while reading Griffin and Skylar’s story and the outcome left a huge smile on my face!

Wrapping it up.......Overall, this anthology of four hot and sensual stories was extremely satisfying.  Each one will leave you fanning yourself and wondering if someone turned on the heat in the midst of summer.  If you love and enjoy reading erotic romances, then this one is a must read to add to your reading list!

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

PUMPED
PUMPED - Willow James REVIEW: Willow James' PUMPED earns five hot and heavy stars!

Willow James (aka author Sara Humphreys) has a new series that we should be talking about. Yes, I mean her Stilettos and Seductions series that centers around a naughty lingerie (and sex toy) shop called Stilettos. PUMPED (Stilettos & Seductions Book One) is a fun read. While described as erotic (which may or may not deter some people from reading), while this book is definitely steamy, I don't find that it needs any warnings. This is, really and truly, a hot, beautiful romance with some very sexy scenes.

Don't get me wrong, PUMPED is more than a little naughty as well as entertaining, sexy, and yes, serious too. It's a novella of about 100 pages, so it's a fairly quick read that I think you'll definitely enjoy. The story opens as dedicated student Skylar, who works full-time at a lingerie (and sex toy) shop Stilettos, is watching for her daily dose of eye candy to walk by, a man who's started work at the office building across the street she calls Mr. Wall Street. Marco, the owner of Stilettos, knows of her fascination with this buttoned-down hunk and plays cupid when said hunk wanders in to Stilettos, just as she's confessing a rather embarrassing lack of "lovin'" in her life.

Griffin (aka Mr. Wall Street) takes Skylar out for a walk and a cup of coffee then makes a proposition that rocks her world. He wants to hook up with her for sex-only, a no-string, no-emotions, non- relationship relationship. At first she seems upset, but when it is apparent that he's been checking her out at the same time she was looking at him, she seems a bit more receptive to this suggestion and becomes fascinated by the opportunity.

She agrees to the bargain as she's not only attracted to him, but at the same time she doesn't want the hassle that she feels a real relationship and love would bring to her life. From the example of her BFF Jess, who keeps having her heart broken by her cheating boyfriend Scott, I can totally understand her lack of interest in and fear of falling in love with someone.

From their first naughty date in the back row of the movie theater, it's apparent that Griffin and Skylar have a connection - probably a real connection. This to me is the real part of the story. I won't share any more details, but if you love a good romance mixed in with some HOT, spicy, and ever-so-naughty action, you'll love PUMPED. I'm definitely looking forward to the next two books in this trilogy and finding out more about what will be happening at Stilettos.

In conclusion, Willow James' PUMPED, her first entry in her new Stilettos & Seductions series earns five hot and heavy stars!

Willow - Kathi S. Barton If only this had had an editor...it could have been good enough that it didn't need to be self-published. This is one of the better self-published books that I have read. The writing was smooth. I truly liked the main characters of Willow and Jared. I thought that they had great chemistry, and the relationship developed in a very natural and believable manner. I'm not a big fan of almost-30-yr-old-virgin-heroines, but in this book, it worked. I loved the secondary characters as well; we get to see the parents of both main characters--and Willow's parents were a hoot.

So why an editor? Content editing!

(1) The villains were pretty much EEEVVILLLLLL. No shades of grey or depth of characterization. I think the book would have been stronger had the villains been given as much thought and development as the other secondary characters.

(2) Ms. Barton doesn't appear to know a lot about commercial construction--the phasing, who does what work in what order, etc. This may not bother most readers, but one of the reasons I bought this book is because I do know the construction industry and I wanted to read a book set around it; the construction-related details rang a bit false at times.

(3) The nail gun! *sigh* "Nail gun" is a slang term for an air nailer, and you cannot--I repeat cannot--shoot nails out of it across a room. Air-powered nailers of all sizes have a safety ring around the slot that shoots the nails, and you have to compress that ring on whatever surface you are nailing before the nailer will fire.

Anyway, despite those issues, I definitely recommend this book: 3.5 stars. And I intend to buy more of this author's work.
