Dark and Beautiful Nights (The Covenant Series #3) by Betty Shreffler
Dark and Beautiful Nights (The Vampire Covenant Series Book 3) - Betty Shreffler
Dark and Beautiful Nights is the last in The Vampire Covenant series (that I'm aware of). We continue with the story where book 2 left off - Kayci is determined to bring Adrian back, and Cass is determined to win her heart. She is torn between the two, but does make her decision. This is good as she is also being seduced by Dark Powers every time she uses them. With deaths, awakenings, love, romance, and yes, more betrayal, this is once again a thrilling ride.

I'm not sure if this is actually the end of the series, because I was still left with questions unanswered by the end of the book. It comes to a satisfying conclusion for most of the characters, but not all. Well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, I can recommend this book and series.

A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies
A Beautiful Dark - Jocelyn Davies

This is a reread for me and I loved it just as much as I did the first time.  I love the characters of this story and their development.  I can see the characters slowly change and I just love them.  I have to admit that Asher was my favorite in this book.  I have read a lot of angel books and this one is so interesting to me.  Most of them just involve a girl having a forbidden romance with a fallen angel.  In this book there is so much more.  The main character is involved with the angel world in so many ways and it makes it unique in my opinion.

A Beautiful Dark
A Beautiful Dark - Jocelyn Davies Well it was an awesome read but the first thing i encountered was underaged drinking...and thats something i never condone...esp in books geared towards younger girls. There are actually a few scenes with drinking so that kind a sucks. One scene in particular (i think this is in one of the other books in the series though), Skye's Aunt makes reference to a friend being "responsible" for not drinking since he was driving....like drinking any other time when be totally fine...meanwhile, the aunt and other kids are getting "tipsy". Sighhh. I almost stopped reading...but the story itself was really good. Thankfully, there wasnt any drugs....otherwise, that would have been my undoing.

As far as the writing and such, it was pretty good. I cant remember any gripes really. The only other major issue i had was the series ending... It just seemed soo unnessary and selfish on Skye's part. Skye apparently isnt very quick on her feet. I cant really say more without spoiling it though. :P

A Beautiful Dark
A Beautiful Dark - Jocelyn Davies

Title: A Beautiful Dark (A Beautiful Dark #1)

Author: Jocelyn Davies

Format: Hardback, 390

Time to Read: 4 days

Goodread's bio: On the night of Skye’s seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers. Complete opposites—like fire and ice—Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Their sudden appearance sends Skye’s life into a tailspin. She has no idea what they want, or why they seem to follow her every move—only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.

In the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye finds herself coming to terms with the impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can’t help falling for, and Devin, who she can’t stay away from, the consequences of Skye’s choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.

My Review: eh. i technically have 8 pages left but i feel like nothing big is gonna happen so i'm going to go ahead and write this!

i have no idea how i feel about this book. i read it in 4 days, so 100 pages/day, so i guess i liked it because i read it quickly. But i feel like nothing major even happened!!!

Most of the book, is Skye trying to choose between good and bad, light or dark powers. She is also trying to choose between two boys. Most of the time, i forgot which boy was talking, they were written the same pretty much. She falls for both, of course right.

Also some strange things happen and she tries to develop her "powers" but that only takes up maybe 50 pages of the book, so i'm disappointed, but i read some reviews on goodreads and everyone claims it gets better in the second book, which i have at home so i figure i'll have a crack at it, either way i'll be gaining another read for the year so might as well :]

Recommend it?: eh, i haven't decided yet. Sorry.

9 books to go til i reach my goal :]

Anyone read this yet?? Or the second one??
