The Alice Behind Wonderland - skip this one.
The Alice Behind Wonderland - Simon Winchester

As Winchester notes in his small yet often long-winded novel, there are volumes dedicated to the relationship Carroll had with the Liddell family, namely Alice (for which he named his stories). Winchester's novel tries to focus on the infamous photograph of Alice that shows a young girl having a strange, haunted and almost seductive look in her eye, but ultimately reads like an essay gone on too long. Unnecessary details about photography and speculation pad this book, which ultimately concludes that nothing indecent happened between Caroll and Alice (or any other children).

My verdict is to skip this book, and stick with one of the more detailed volumes, or even just look for information online, where you can also see the pictures Winchester describes. The photographs themselves speak more, and more eloquently, than this book.

New and/or uncommon words!
The Alice Behind Wonderland - Simon Winchester

meretricious - apparently attractive but having in reality no value or integrity; of, relating to, or characteristic of a prostitute

crinoline - an open-weave fabric of horsehair or cotton that is usually stiffened and used especially for interlinings and millinery, makes clothes (namely skirts) puffy

simulacrum - an image or representation of someone or something

adumbration - to foreshadow vaguely

unpropitious - unfavourable, untimely

insouciance - casual lack of concern; indifference

Straits Academy
Straits Academy - Alice Liddell,Anne Randolph 22-year-old Adelaide leaves England to sail to Singapore to marry a man she has been corresponding with. Unfortunately, when she arrives, she finds him to be a victim of murder. Not ready to return to the England she left behind, she embarks on a bold undercover adventure infiltrating the campus of a mysterious boarding school for young ladies. Addy had just the right mix of daring and submissiveness to pull this off - not everyone would, believe me - and perhaps not in that order. The biggest negative - the book was just too short. I have to admit that I enjoy a certain amount of F/f and this has that but for all Madame Ong's delicious threats and promises I was left kind of disappointed at how little she actually did. We had several opportunities for some great scenes that were just left on the table including leading into the finale.I did like the discussion between Drake and the Detective. A place like this would be terrible today. But back at this time - we don't know exactly what year it was although they did have motorcars - it just isn't quite that bad if the students were of the right mindset. And it was kind of bothersome the way things ended with quite a few unanswered questions.I think if you enjoy the book, you will definitely like the ending.

Safe Haven: An Age Play Spanking Romance... Safe Haven: An Age Play Spanking Romance - Alice Liddell Cassie is a complete hot mess. She can't get her life together and requires a Daddy to keep her in line. This is not my favourite type of trope were the little one is basically a moron. It's not that she's stupid - she's a 29 year old going for her pre-med. It's the fact that she has no self control or discipline.

This is aggravating to me. It does make her a good candidate for being a little one for her Daddy, Roy. Roy is a daddy who is fair and constantly disappointed by Cassie's disobedience. This story is hawt in her punishments. It would be nice to read a bit more of her punishments as this child will need to be disciplined daily. She's also just starting anal training which is a favourite.

The dress up parts of this story is hawt. How she's treated and resentful of some of the lessons are delightful. This is a decent ageplay story with smexy fun and a bit of medical play. Recommended for BDSM lovers who enjoy a little age play with a hot Daddy.
