Porn Money and Wannabe Mummy by Laura Barnard
Porn Money & Wannabe Mummy (The Debt & the Doormat Book 3) - Laura Barnard

This read was full of laughs and was definitely a page turner. I think a lot of people can agree with poppy when it comes to her mother and how she's "never wrong" lol and that for me was an awesome ice-breaker to start off with in this book. It had quiet a few LOL moments that kept it light and easy to read as well as dealing with every day life issues without all the doom & gloom. It is definitely a mood-lifting read and once I started laughing I laughed all the way through. Its not often you come across an author that writes stories like Laura Barnard and it goes to show what an awesome sense of humour she has. My Favourite part was the "frozen turkey in a hot bath" and if you think that's funny you should most definitely pick up a copy of this very enjoyable read and will want to continue with the series to read more about Poppy, Jazz and all the hilarious gang that Laura Barnard has created

#boutofbooks 15, Day 5
Bout of BooksI read 62 pages last night. Not much, but at least I got some sleep.
Total: 508 pages.
The Universe vs Alex Woods now gets really interesting because Alex finally met his tutor Mr. Peterson. First thing he did was to give him all his Vonegut books. Now I really must get to them eventually.

Today's Challenge: Scavenger Hunt

Cozy reading spot

I shamelessly combined two of the tasks, presenting you 4 pics: The pretty yellow spine is The Universe vs Alex Woods, which I'm currently reading. Next to it is a stack of blue books from my tbr shelf, which you can also see. On top of the blue books you can see the latest addition to my tea cup collection. The writing says "Best friend". FYI, the cup was filled with delicious green tea. Last but not least, a cozy reading spot. It's not in my flat, but I'll never forget that place and hope to return to it ASAP. It's a book shop in Hay-on-Wye. What could be more appropriate?

I didn't include a picture of my reading spot because honestly I don't have one, or not the one I always go to. Also, the flat still looks chaotic weeks after the actual move.

So, do you have one fixed reading nook?

Update

Instead of reading my book I'm listening to some audiobooks. My library membership for my ex-hometown expires in 10 days and some of the audiobooks on Overdrive are not available from my new library's account.

I listened to The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende (not impressed, but it was not bad) and Farmer Giles of Ham (read by a very popular narrator who sadly passed away long ago). I also checked out audiobooks of Eden by Stanislaw Lem and a collection of Nordic Fairy Tales that features some of my favourite narrators.

Book Haul (for the week starting 10/18/2015) with special guest star Tiny Vader

Tiny Vader and I had a blast this week. Everything pictured in the stacks were a quarter each and purchased from one of my local thrift stores, where all books are only twenty-five cents on Wednesday. The Murakami is brand new, and The Abominable Man (both the English translation and the original Swedish) were gifts from my buddy Thomas Strömquist.

I was especially excited to find Dan Simmons's Drood for only a quarter. I've wanted that one for a while, and I'm glad I was patient in my hunt.

Book Haul (9/30/2015) with special guest star Tiny Vader

Quarter-Book Day at my local thrift shop and I made out like a bandit. I felt bad. I really did. I mean, shit, I found Chuck Palahniuk's Choke for a damn quarter. Did I put any of this stuff back so I could return when they were full price? Nossir and no ma'am. Why? Because these books wouldn't have been there tomorrow, that's why. Anyballs, this is what I scored. The Irving's and the Palahniuk alone were worth the price of all these four times over.

If you would like to see individual covers, check out my Instagram HERE or my Tumblr HERE. Follow me on either for daily posts.

Tiny Vader and I wish you all a pleasant day.

*hugs and high fives*
