The fact that the universe doesn't seem to quite agree with his plan is of little consequence. No one can stop this general, no one but her... The action is non stop and this one. The hero has at least 10 one on one fights.

The heroine is no push over herself.

The romance is slipped in between the carnage of war. The fated mate troupe comes in much later than usual and the heroines struggle with it was a bit much with everything else that was going on.

The villain is well drawn and clever.

I enjoyed reading this story but would have liked more after the war time with the hero and heroine.

Interesting questions of war were explored.

Will Isolde give into the mouthwateringly hot and equally as ferocious alien general or will fate make the decision for her?

While the reluctance of the heroine seemed was annoying at times in terms of not communicating clearly a way to negotiate between the hero's culture and her culture and the villain plot was far fetched at times,  overall this was an engaging romance with good world building, action, adventure and a sweet romance. 

Leiya has a secret. Trouble is, even she doesn't know it. One of the most promising singers Briolina has to offer, no one could know that the bright star is actually a human, a Terran from Earth. But when the most dangerous Brion in the universe marks her as his own, Leiya has more than hidden secrets to worry about. She thought she was ready for the love of her life, but the general is far more than she could have been prepared for! And no one's supposed to deny their chosen... but what if she has compelling reasons to do so, even if her body can't fathom the idea?

Faren is not a simple man. Seemingly devoid of emotions, rational to a fault, he is a monster on the battlegrounds and his reputation far precedes him. But after losing his brother, the only demon who could match him, Faren is aimless. When the binding hits him like a spear to the chest, making him recognize the innocent, curvy Leiya as his true mate, he finally sees a glimmer of a purpose. A goal. Her safety, her heart, and her body.

He will have her, the right way, even if it kills him and everyone around him. Nothing could stop the Monster of Briolina. But it seems like the whole universe is going to try like hell, both to get him as well as kill the human woman he has sworn his heart to. I was so looking forward to this one from reading about the hero in the other books of the series.

I liked the idea of opposites attract as well.

However, the heroine's lack of self and other awareness as well as the tone of her internal dialogue made this book not work for me at all.

So sad.

Will Lana learn to consider the needs of her own heart and will Corden save not only her and the universe, but himself as well?

This is an action packed Science Fiction Romance with one of the best bad guys I have read in a long time.

The heroine is wonderful. She embodies what a Captain of a Ship should be. The hero is a great warrior. The task before them is almost impossible. Good stuff.

Mix in great world building and fine romance, we have very good read.

Enjoy it despite the awful title.
