David Goes To School By David Shannon
David Goes To School - David Shannon

This David book is all about David at school. In the David series, David is normally being told "No" by everyone. I wonder how this story will compare to the others. David is at school, lets see what his teachers have to say about his behavior in the classroom. Now, lets all draw pictures of behaviors that we should have at school, not what David is showing in our story. We will add all of our drawings into one book and create a story about what behaviors we all should be doing in school.

David is back but this time causing mischief in the school! Follow David as he gets into trouble at school and his teacher try to teach him the school rules. As any other David book, this will have your students cackling and invested in the story. This a story that is great to start the school year off with. This would be a great story to read to students to spark a class discussion on what we can do in school and what we can't do in school. Then you could have your students create their classroom rules after their discussion (all teacher facilitated of course).

A fun read for Kindergarten-2nd grade: readers find out that David is not your average student! He breaks almost every rule at school-he chews gum, runs in the halls, yells, and tests his teachers patience. This would be a funny, yet valuable book to read during the first week of school to introduce class rules. Your class could come up with 4-5 class rules all together. Students love knowing that their input is valued!
