Couldn't really help myself. It is the annual book fair and found so many books that I have missed.

The 8 books read this month is not going to make that much of a dent.

Enjoyable read.

Doing some volunteer work on weekend and lessen the time available for reading. Want to start reading non-fiction books but got tired and escape to fictional book world instead.

Harry Hole in Thailand solving a murder
Cockroaches - Jo Nesbo

Harry Hole being sent to Thailand when the ambassador was murdered.

He found some clues that make it seems the wrong guy was wrongly arrested.

The clue lead one way and another and it is something that Harry found more troublesome, that there are paedophiles living in Thailand and were not arrested. Thai police were corruptible with  money.

So would the truth comes out?

Of course it would. Harry just couldn't help but found the connection and see it is all a series of complicated plots for personal gain.

It is hard to talk about this book as there is so many clues and don't want to spoil the fun. It is a fun read. Really nice seeing Harry single and still working out what he supposed to do with that brilliant detective brain of his.

Reading progress update: I've read 151 out of 464 pages.
Cockroaches - Jo Nesbo

An ambassador twas found died with a knife on his back in a sleazy motel room in Thailand.

Harry Hole was sent to Thailand to investigation and try to delay a scandal.

Harry is doing his best under unusual heat for him.

Who is he meeting on the day of the murder?

The suspects list is short as there isn't anyone who stand out as the obvious killer.

So Harry used his usual tactic to poke around a bit and asking lot of direct, sometimes inappropriate questions.

Fun read.

Kakerlaken // Cockroaches!!!
Kakerlaken: Harry Holes zweiter Fall (Ein Harry-Hole-Krimi) - Jo Nesbo

German and english review
First things first: I received this book through NetGalley.

RUNA.

***

Summary: When the Norwegian ambassador to Thailand is found dead in a Bangkok brothel, Inspector Harry Hole is dispatched from Oslo to help hush up the case.

But once he arrives Harry discovers that this case is about much more than one random murder. There is something else, something more pervasive, scrabbling around behind the scenes. Or, put another way, for every cockroach you see in your hotel room, there are hundreds behind the walls. Surrounded by round-the-clock traffic noise, Harry wanders the streets of Bangkok lined with go-go bars, temples, opium dens, and tourist traps, trying to piece together the story of the ambassador’s death even though no one asked him to, and no one wants him to—not even Harry himself.

Harry Harry Harry.
He really is a total mess but I still love him. I also really really loved that we got more of him and his sister, Søs. I want more from that. MORE!!!!

The case itself was really intense but also very interesting. The twists. I mean, I'm only on my second book in the series but I already learned my lesson to TRUST NO ONE!!!!

The memories of Birgitta got to me really bad. That's still something I can't forgive from the first book. So don't even get me started on the second book and Runa. RUNA.
