Consoling Angel
Consoling Angel - Denise Alicea Consoling Angel - Denise Alicea I received a copy from the author for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this one! I read an excerpt for a blog tour last year, but hadn't signed up for a review at the time, and was sad I missed out. I'm so glad I got another chance, and finally got to read this one! Short and sweet, but a great time travel story. I wish there was a little more character development, but overall a fun read!

Consoling Angel
Consoling Angel - Denise Alicea Consoling Angel - Denise Alicea This is a short story about a girl named Angel. Angel has lost her father. The only thing she has left is their mutual love of James Dean. One evening Angel is very drained and falls asleep, she wakes up in 1952 or did she.
This is really a short story. So I cannot give many details without giving the whole story away. Denise Alicea has done a great job with this story. It is really written for teen age girls. It does explore several emotions in a teenage girls live.

quote 2016-02-11 12:09
“Night. The stars and the moon impassive, undisturbed, eternal. A little of their impassivity flows into me. They are consoling. They reduce the intensity and acuteness of human sorrow. I feel less strangled, less oppressed.”

Consoling Angel
Consoling Angel - Denise Alicea Consoling Angel - Denise Alicea What were the main themes of the book? Romance and learning to move on. Mira sees very little hope in her present life but seeks comfort from her memories with her father.

Describe 2 different settings or locations. One - "Laughter erupted between us as I covered my face. He then cupped my face, kissed my forehead. “Are you sure you’re not an angel?" This scene was so touching, I almost wanted it to be real.

Two - "“Maybe we have met.” Hearing his voice with the warmth of his hand upon mine, I nearly dissolved, feeling nothing around me." Does Mira find love again and is she able to overcome her loss? You'll have to read it to find out.

Were you able to connect with the main character and why? Definitely. Death is something we all have to deal with and sometimes we don't deal with it so well and need some kind of external help.

Which did you find more appealing, the introduction or the conclusion? The introduction. It reminded me of my own childhood.

Why would you recommend or not recommend this book? Yes, I would definitely recommend this book. It's touching, romantic and well-written.

Disclosure - I received a free book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
