*sigh*
If amazon/goodreads are listening to authors over members, I wonder how much flak they are getting from the majority of authors (of course the bba's for all the noise they make are only a tiny minority of authors) in emails and private conversations?
I completely sympathize with authors who don't want to publicly engage on the overheated goodreads threads. I'm sure there's a point staff don't want to respond on certain threads (but, it is a part of their job).
I wonder if the bba's are rethinking being so hotly angered over "bba" and other shelf names now that instead the shelf names have been replaced with 1-star ratings and negative reviews? A lot of them struck me as seriously so concerned with their book's average ratings they made sockpuppet accounts and deliberately played victim to drum up sympathy ratings. There certainly are lots of posts on the blogosphere on how unfair it is a reader on goodreads can 1-star their books even withiut reading and withiut offering up constructive criticism they can use.
