THE MATH MONSTER by Jennifer Hazen Buss
The Math Monster (A book about confidenc... The Math Monster (A book about confidence and friendship) - Jennifer Hazen Buss

Danielle does not have her math homework. She knows she put it in her folder. Now where is it?  She finds it when she returns home as well as a pencil. Who is the pencil? Why does he have her homework?

I enjoyed this quick tale. Matthew, the pencil--AKA--the Math Monster--helps Danielle to realize she knows her math. He helps her with her confidence. Her negative reactions change when she realizes she did her math well. I did not like Kristi, the mean girl at school. She was a nasty piece of work.

This is a good book for your early readers.

George and Martha: Two Great Friends
George and Martha Two Great Friends Early Reader - James Marshall

I am charmed by George and Martha who are reminiscent of Lobel’s Frog and Toad. “The Tub” was my favorite story from the book. It packs such a punch in so few pages. Each of the stories are concise yet complete making it a great choice for young readers who might not have the attention span for longer books.

Everything Has a Place by Laura Ceville
Everything Has a Place: Early Reader for Kids Ages 3-5 - Laura Ceville

Everything Has a Place written by Laura Ceville is a delightful children's book with a message. It's for children from zero to five.

The illustrations are simple but charming and colorful. The rhymes are clear and fun to read aloud. My favorite little boy loved it. I gave it five stars.

Little Rooster learns from his Mama that everything has a place.

"One day Mama said to me,
'This is not where socks should be.'
I said to Mama, with a smile,
'I like my socks in a smelly pile!'"

Great for parents, grandparents or beginning readers, a cleverly written and enjoyable book.
