The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein - Kiersten White

The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein is a retelling of sorts of the famous Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

I guess I got the audio because it was recommended in the free audio download narrated by Jim Weiss. Idk. I was really loving Jim Weiss' voice but when I went to recharge my iPod,  I lost  my place and I can't recover it so I am forced to start from the beginning again. Ugh. It's not going very fast. I am on chapter 6 in the Dark Descent but I've already listened up to chapter 9 once today already.*sigh. My iPod isn't working the way I want :( I am going to start over from the beginning again tomorrow because I'm not retaining enough to know what the fuck is happening. This is why I like having the physical book! There is nothing wrong with this narrator. It's a girl with an English accent. Katharine McEwan. Published by Listening Library.

Publisher Summary

"Exquisitely disturbing", raves internationally best-selling author Stephanie Garber of this stunning and dark reimagining of Frankenstein.

Elizabeth Lavenza hasn't had a proper meal in weeks. Her thin arms are covered with bruises from her "caregiver", and she is on the verge of being thrown into the streets...until she is brought to the home of Victor Frankenstein, an unsmiling, solitary boy who has everything - except a friend.

Victor is her escape from misery. Elizabeth does everything she can to make herself indispensable - and it works. She is taken in by the Frankenstein family and rewarded with a warm bed, delicious food, and dresses of the finest silk. Soon she and Victor are inseparable.

But her new life comes at a price. As the year's pass, Elizabeth's survival depends on managing Victor's dangerous temper and entertaining his every whim, no matter how depraved. Behind her blue eyes and sweet smile lies the calculating heart of a girl determined to stay alive no matter the cost...as the world she knows is consumed by darkness.

I WROTE A(NOTHER) THING!

Safiye is used to the bullying. She tries not to let it bother her, but she feels as if no one understands. Well, almost no one. Adam understands, but he’s just words on a computer screen. As she learns more about him, the mystery only deepens. Can their friendship survive his life and death secret, or will she come to see him as a monster?

LIVING DEAD BOY is 19K+ YA novella, loosely based on/updated version of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and is available on Smashwords for all platforms for the scarily low price of 99 cents.
